United Nations Calls For An End To Industrialized Farming

Source: www.truth-out.org | Original Post Date: November 26, 2014 –

united-nations-calls-for-an-end-to-industrialized-farming

In 2013, the United Nations announced that the world’s agricultural needs can be met with localized organic farms. That’s right, we do not need giant monocultures that pour, spray and coat our produce with massive amounts of poisons, only to create mutant pests and weeds while decimating pollinators and harming human health. Don’t believe the hype: We do not need genetically modified foods “to feed the world.”

From my experience, many of these – how shall we say it – “worker bees” (i.e the GMO salesmen) who spread this propaganda, actually believe conventional tactics are necessary to ensure food security. They’ve drunk the Kool-Aid and cannot envision another possibility...

Breaking Through Personal Limits with Conscious Self-Actualisation Groups

By Caroline Diana Bobart

Guest Writer for Wake Up World

There is a mysterious element of order and wisdom that underpins the consciousness and energy of a group that gathers in sacred space.

Often those who are part of such a group will refer to this unseen order and wisdom as “the hand of God”. Another equally valid way to look at it is as a powerful all-knowing force that is unleashed when ‘two or more are gathered’. This universal truth speaks directly to the force that rises as you step away from ego into sacred agreement with others, so the best outcomes possible can come into being.

Of course, when you enter into a group agreement, depending on the nature and purpose of the group, there can be varying degrees of consciousness on the part of the person (if any) leading that group. Of all the types of groups that exist – political, cultural, ethnic, humanitarian, charitable, volunteer, business – this observation relates most closely to conscious ‘self-actualisation’ groups.

The Pretender

The mind seeks an identity grounded in truth and awareness.  It lacks the heart to know itself.

There is no permanence to its being, so it fluctuates into forms having no soul, or heart, in them.

Mind is not life, but only a form of antilife forever languishing in being unfulfilled, endlessly searching for truth and meaning.

For observing, analyzing and comparing ideas, mind is good, but it lacks the fullness of becoming those things it seeks.

Namaste.

Nearly 100 Indian women die after being 'forced' into government-run sterilization camps

The relatives of Indian women who died following a state-operated mass sterilization campaign went terribly awry have told local media they were forced by government health workers to attend.

As reported by Britain's The Guardian newspaper, more than 80 women recently underwent surgery for laparoscopic tubectomies at a cost-free government-run camp in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, in the central part of the country. Around 60 of the women became ill following the procedure, officials said, and more than dozen had died, with a dozen more in serious condition.

"The [health workers] said nothing would happen, it was a minor operation. They herded them like cattle," Mahesh Suryavanshi, the brother-in-law of one woman who died, told the Indian Express newspaper.

India frequently holds women-only sterilization camps to control population

Some Pointers (and Pitfalls) for Talking With Nature

Some Pointers and Pitfalls for Talking With Nature Some Pointers (and Pitfalls) for Talking With Nature

Essentially, Nature lives and expresses in and from the moment. We people, very, very rarely express in and from the moment. Nature has no choice about this, it cannot leave the conscious moment. We have a lot of choices; we call it free will! Free will… that’s a misnomer if ever I heard one! If you have free will, try being consciously in the moment for one minute. Okay… you failed. Almost certainly, you were thinking! To be consciously in the moment, you must be without thought. Why? You can think your way out of the moment, but you cannot think your way into it. Thoughts take you into the past, or the future, but thought cannot take you into the moment. Nature does not live and express in the past or future; it lives consciously in the eternal moment.

Suddenly, talking with Nature is far more than it appears to be.

The Science and Practice of Gratitude

Besides sharing time with family and friends over food, the primary ingredient of the American Thanksgiving holiday is gratitude. While it’s certainly good to have an annual holiday to remind us to express gratitude, there’s much to be said for the benefits of cultivating the spirit of thankfulness year-round.

People who are thankful for what they have are better able to cope with stress, have more positive emotions, and are better able to reach their goals. Scientists have even noted that gratitude is associated with improved health.

Asosan - the largest volcano in Japan enters new eruptive phase, Kyushu

Asosan, the largest active volcano in Japan and one of the world's largest volcanoes, started its new eruptive phase this week prompting Japanese authorities to cancel or divert flights on Thursday, November 27, 2014.

A column of ash and smoke reached about 2 133 meters at 06:00 UTC today and was extending north, according to latest Tokyo VAAC warning. An exclusion zone of 1 km radius around the volcano is in place.

Activity from the Asosan's Nakadake crater has intensified on Tuesday, November 25 when observed ash emissions and comparably strong incandescence suggested a new magmatic eruption could be under way.

Recognizing Your own Wealth and Residing in an Abundant Universe

abundance-resonating-in-wealth-consciousness
“Abundance is not something we acquire, it’s something we tune in to.” – Wayne Dyer

We live in an abundant universe! There is literally an infinite amount of energy. In all actuality there is no such thing as scarcity or lack because there is literally no place that exists that isn’t jam packed full of energy. We are pure energy, the air between two people is full of energy, every thought and feeling we have is energy.

Even the thought that you have that you don’t have enough is still more energy. When you stop to think about it, we are all very wealthy people. Actually, it is impossible to not be wealthy when at our core, and at the core of everyone we meet, and every object we own or see, and every breath of air that we take is still this same infinite energy supply that literally exists everywhere.

8 Toxic Household Products You Should Avoid

Cleaning-Supplies
Anastasia Pantsios, EcoWatch
Waking Times

There are a lot of common household products almost everyone has on hand and probably never thinks much about. Your parents had them and now so do you. But a lot of these common products are toxic, something we know more about now than your family did back in the day. So you might want to avoid some of these items and look for some house-healthier substitutes.

1. Non-stick cookware may save you some cleaning time, some elbow grease and some scouring pads, but at high temperatures the polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) that makes Teflon non-sticky gives off toxic gases...

U.S. Physicist: Alien nuclear bomb wiped out Mars civilization

will's picture

The paper, reportedly due to be published in the Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, claims evidence for two massive nuclear explosions on Mars at two sites on the planet. Mars once had two civilizations, the Cydonians and the Utopians, wiped out by nuclear bombs detonated by technological aliens.

The site named Cydonia is the location of the formation on the surface of planet spotted by orbital crafts which looked like a human "face on Mars" but which, after closer examination, has been dismissed as incidental formations of dust dunes.

The purported evidence for nuclear explosions includes the red color of the surface of Mars which, according to Brandenburg, could be explained either by a naturally caused nuclear reaction or a nuclear device explosion which scattered radio-isotopes in the Martian environment.

Joseph’s Good Fortune

For those of My children who struggle, can you not do as you do without the struggling part? What is struggle? It is trying too hard. Do as you do and release trying so hard, and you will not be struggling.

Of course, there is struggling and struggling just the way there is trouble and trouble. A broken fingernail can be trouble. Not getting a good mark on a test can be trouble. Having a car accident is another breed of trouble.

How related is trouble to worrying? You decide something is trouble, and perhaps you add an overtone of stormy weather. The world does not turn dark because you are anxious, yet you see it that way.

You live in what is called the relative world, and relative means that everything is by comparison. What if you didn’t compare? Then, worry would leave, trouble would not claim ownership. If you could know ahead of time that all that occurs doesn’t really matter, that what occurs occurs, what doesn’t occur doesn’t occur, and that all is well regardless of anything in the world of up’s and down’s. In that case, what would you identify as trouble and struggle? What would you refuse to admit to the entrance of your life when it has already barged in? What would you kick away?

What would you dismiss when you do not as yet know where it is taking you?

In one sense, there are no accidents. Then, if that is the case, everything is predetermined. In another sense, even that which seems to be predetermined can be your Free Will. It is not so easy to call the shots.

Walmart workers plan Black Friday strike

For the third Black Friday running, America’s largest retailer is expected to face labor protests at locations across the country. Workers and supporters affiliated with the union-backed labor campaign OUR Walmart say this Friday will be their biggest strike yet.

OUR Walmart first burst onto the scene two years ago, when it used Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year, to launch an unprecedented, nationwide strike against Walmart. The group originally demanded that Walmart pay all employees a base salary of at least $25,000 per year, but has since joined with striking fast food workers in demanding at least $15 per hour.

Workers affiliated with OUR Walmart claim the retailer pays so little that some employees don’t even have the means to feed their families. The campaign has also filed legal complaints accusing Walmart of illegally retaliating against strikers, sometimes by firing them.

Build, don’t burn. Collaborate, don’t complain. Don’t simply “resist” the system, replace it altogether.

When faced on the battlefield with a numerically superior enemy, one must attempt to divide his enemy into smaller, more easily dispatched opponents – or even more ideally, divide them against one another, and have them defeat each other without ever drawing your sword. For Wall Street’s 0.1%, divide and conquer is a way of life.

Divide and Conquer

Never in human history has there been a more effective way for tyrants to rule over large groups of people who, should they ever learn to cooperate, would easily throw off such

This earth is close, not because it is close but because of you. That heaven is far away, not because it is far away, but because of you.

"This" means the world, "This" means the body -- these desires, these passions, the physical, the visible. "This" means all that has been condemned by religions. They are always against "this" and for "that." "That" means Brahma, "That" means moksha, "That" means the divine. "This" means the material world -- this devilish world, this which is condemned. All the religions have condemned this world.

I don't condemn it. I want to give you roots into this world.

All the religions have said unless you are uprooted from "this," you will not get wings into "that." They are against "this," against the world, the body, against the material, the visible. All you feel as near, they are against. They are for something very far away, something abstract -- God, Brahma, moksha. Nobody knows, nobody is in contact with it; there is no communion, no touch with it. It looks like a dream, like poetry, it looks imaginary. All religions have condemned "this." They say, "Be uprooted." That's why they call sannyas renouncing the world, renouncing "this." I do not. They have created a dualism... not only dualism, they have created antagonism between "this" and "that," between the physical and the spiritual.

How to Pick the Best Organic Seeds & Avoid GMO Seed Varieties

Seedlings
Christina Sarich, Natural Society
Waking Times

GMO? Hybrid? Organic? Heirloom?

Biotech would like us to believe that genetically modified organisms have been around for ages – that they are the equivalent of crossbred and cross-pollinated seed techniques used by master gardeners and farmers for centuries – but there is a big difference. If you ever plan on buying seeds, knowing the difference between organic seeds, heirloom seeds, and GMO seeds is important.

Seeds are alive, and they adapt – just like we do – to the environment in which they are grown. Just as the new science of epigenetics suggests in human evolution, seeds are greatly influenced by climate, cultural factors like whether or not seeds were brought up on a diet of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, as well as petro-chemical based fertilizers, and even if music was played while they were being germinated.
