Finding Peace in the Mystery, Letting Go of the Need to Know

will's picture

Can the human mind ever truly know God? Let's put that question aside for a moment and focus upon another closely related one, can we ever truly know another person? Let's say you met Frank yesterday, Frank had long hair, a wife, and he mentioned he was afraid of heights. You take in all these things and create a mental image of Frank, now you know him. The problem is, earlier today Frank got a haircut, a divorce, and he overcame his fear of heights during a skydiving trip. He had quite a busy morning, but this all happened without you knowing, and your mental image of Frank remains the same. What you think you know about Frank, quite frankly, has nothing to do with him anymore. This is one of the issues with knowledge, it's inherently limited and based in the past. You can't know everything that's happening in every moment, and you can't know everything that's going on in another person's inner world. Most people have enough trouble keeping track of everything going on in their own inner world.

People change, they're dynamic living beings, very difficult to know with any certainty, and yet people believe they can know God with certainty? A truly noble quest! For those who choose it, I wish you luck, but in the interest of saving you some trouble I'm going to say right now it's ultimately futile. God is the Eternal Mystery, the Unknowable, the "I Am", not the "I known". There's belief systems that have spent thousands of years attempting to know God, and they're no closer now than when they began. A few even seem to be further away, the belief systems grow more and more complicated, and instead of finding any clarity they just create more confusion.

4 Simple But Powerful Ways to Increase Your Everyday Happiness and Life Satisfaction

HJ: Happiness has been decoded.  We know what produces it in spades. The only thing left to do is adopt the principles that lead to happiness.  To do the things that remove any barriers and obstacles to experiencing it in our day to day life.  The hard part, however, is undoing the patterns and habits we have.  But even that can be easy if someone is ready and willing to change.  It’s only hard for people who say they want it but are not willing to make any changes to get it.  Like anything in life, it’s what you make of it.  But regardless of whether you want to go slow or fast in realigning yourself with these and other foundational principles, alas, here they are for your knowledge and integration.

Mike Sygula, Contributor
Waking Times

It is 2014 and we have just learned from the Living Planet Report (1) published by the Worldwide Fund For Nature that over a period of 40 years from 1970 to 2010 the populations of mammals, birds, reptiles and fish have declined by 52% due to human environmental impact. Well done, human race! Great job!

“If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live” –Albert Einstein

We also know that one insect that we are so dependent on, the bee, has been disappearing in recent decades with an especially huge decline in recent years. In the last 5 years the bee population in the US alone has declined by 30% and particularly in Spain by around 80% (2)!

Daily Message ~ Monday November 17, 2014

Do you hold yourself back from committing fully to your creations “just in case”? Do you have a wait and see attitude, and wait for things to prove themselves to you? Do you realize that to do so actually limits your success?

Such an approach is like going to a raceway to see how fast your car can go and then setting the cruise control at the speed you normally drive. You will have effectively controlled your experience but you will never really know what your car is capable of. You would have capped yourself at far less than the full potential.

Your mind will frequently only see potential within the realm of what has already been achieved. You are so much more than what you have already done! The most successful people on your planet are the people who fully commit, who whole-heartedly throw themselves into experiences, allowing them the room and time to fully unfold and expand into the fullest potentials, and then create again beyond even that! They are always discovering more and more about what they can do, and what is possible.

Dear Ones, won’t you finally allow yourselves to discover your own greatness and potential and become the great innovators of your own life expressions? ~Archangel Gabriel

8 Reasons Why I Have Hope For Our World & You Should Too

Mark DeNico, Collective-Evolution
Waking Times

It’s hard to deny that things are becoming increasingly challenging here on Earth. Many of us are struggling through economic hardships comparable to that of the great depression, while others live every day in fear for their life as the place that they call home is now an active war zone. No matter the intensity of your individual story, we all face challenges and thanks to the mainstream media beast we are all also constantly thrust with negative story after negative story -with the occasional irrelevant pop culture distraction tossed in every couple of minutes.

Despite this, I still choose to stand on the glass is half full side of the spectrum. I strongly believe that deep down we are all hard wired to not only survive and thrive here on planet Earth, but also to come together and recognize the interconnectedness that we all share. Here are 8 reasons why I have hope in the world and I believe that you should too:

Leonid meteor shower peaks tonight

Leonid meteor shower peaks during the night and early morning hours of November 17 and 18. Waning-crescent moon is favorable for this year's Leonids peak and will provide dark enough skies for night sky watchers. Leonids will radiate from the constelation Leo, but can appear anywhere in the sky.

Leonids are bright, colorful and fast meteors traveling at speeds of 71 km/s (44 mps) which peak during mid-November each year. They are considered to be a major meteor shower.

The Sacred Art of Self-Love

self-love-healthy

Religious. Agnostic. Skinny. Healthy. Holy. Good. Ugly. Right. Wrong. We are all of these assumptions and much more in the mirror of the world. Trying to adapt to the reflection of our perfection, suppressing our true identities, we wear a mask best suited for the occasion, a mask of ego that would help us fit in with the rest in the world of shallowness.

What we really miss out on while we are busy adjusting, is the emotion we were taught as a child – LOVE. Trying to find love outside and pacifying the ardent desire ‘to be loved’, we overlook the place where it truly resides – within us.

Greek mythology, Buddhism, Hinduism and many other religions and cults, emphasis on the profuse power of self-love and self-compassion. This fundamental form of love often goes missed and if tapped, is declared to be wrapped in the mask of narcissism. But the urgent need to focus on self love, a symbol of self trust, is ignored. People are scared to believe in themselves & are rather happier to live a life of self-contempt because self-trust is too expensive to afford.

Thoughts Through Space: a Pioneering Long-Distance Telepathy Experiment

Thoughts Through Space - a Pioneering Long-Distance Telepathy Experiment

“Those who reject even telepathy have reached the point where they are impugning either the honesty or the sanity of several thousand scientific researchers on all major continents over a period of decades. Such expedient ways of disposing of data are shared only by the most ardent anti-Evolutionists among the Fundamentalist sects.” ~ R.A. Wilson, from the book Cosmic Trigger.

Thoughts Through Space

The term “telepathy” was coined in 1882 by Frederick W.H. Myers, a founding member of the London Society for Psychical Research (SPR). The word means “feeling at a distance”, though this may be slightly misleading in that this is not usually how the term is deployed. Telepathy is essentially mind-to-mind contact, or the exchange of information between two different consciousnesses separated by an arbitrarily large distance (it doesn’t matter how large). Though many of the more narrow-visioned would claim any discussion involving telepathy is “unscientific” by default, we can see that many years ago there were eminent scientists who not only recognized its existence but sought to understand the phenomenon.

What You Food Cravings Tell You About Your Health

Natasha Longo, Prevent Disease
Waking Times

Cravings can inspire you or consume you. They can lead you down the path of ill health or encourage change in what and how you eat. Once we are tuned into all the the foods that jive with our intestinal, hormonal and physiological health, we can learn to and tweak our diet to satisfy something larger that our body requirements. Defeating recurring cravings is all a matter of matching a nutrient deficiency with a healthy bioavailable source.

I know many people who self-medicate with cookies, chocolate or cupcakes. But there is always a close link between feeling down and craving carbs. It’s not always clear if a dip in your mood is the excuse for your recent junk food binge, or if it’s the other way around, but specific nutrientsa are behind many cravings.

Heartbreak – Loving Ourselves Through Difficult Times

By Jack Adam Weber L.Ac., Dipl. C.H.

Contributing Writer for Wake Up World

Despite its advertised promise, the experience of heartbreak is often chaotic, confusing, and messy. Most people want to get out of it as soon as possible. And for good reason; it hurts. Trying to escape heartbreak prematurely, however, leads to the perpetuation of pain, otherwise known as suffering. While everyone´s journey through heartbreak will be unique, there are many helpful tips as well as a context of healing for how to embody this process in order to be released from the depths of pain and loss as a renewed, wiser, more genuinely loving person.

At some point each of us faces heartbreak. Whether we lose a loved one, our health, a piece of land or a whole planet to over-development and toxicity, each is a kind of heartbreak. Some heartbreaks bring us to our knees, and these occasions hold the promise the most growth and initiation into deeper love.

Is Buddha Angry?

by Eric Klein

Buddha_OMTimes

Fear. Anger. Sorrow. Doubt. Overwhelm . . . All of those and more. The sages faced them . . . and faced them . . . and faced them . . . and through persistent compassionate facing (hint: meditation) they discovered something remarkable.

They discovered that every emotion – no matter how challenging – can be healed, transformed, and expressed as life-giving energy.

They discovered how to experience freedom – not by suppressing, defeating, or avoiding emotions -? but by transforming them. They discovered that freedom isn’t an escape from life but that freedom can be realized in the midst of life’s inevitable ups and downs.

Fluoride Toxicity No Longer A ‘Conspiracy Theory’

Source: www.wakingtimes.com | Original Post Date: June 16, 2014 –

fluoride-toxicity-no-longer-a-conspiracy-theory

...mainstream studies outlining the deleterious effects of fluoride are commonplace – in 2006 the National Research Council released a 500 page review, which took 12 scientists over three years to produce and described in great detail why EPA’s purportedly “safe” drinking water standard (4 ppm) needs to be reduced in order to protect human health. The report documents myriad potential hazards from fluoride exposure, including damage to the bones, brain, and various glands of the endocrine system. According to Dr. Bob Carton, a former risk-assessment scientist at EPA, this report “should be the center piece of every discussion on fluoridation. It changes everything.”
