In an otherwise unhealthy world it behooves us to become healthier people. Why? Because it compels the unhealthy world to balance itself and become healthier despite itself. But also because we humans are the reason the world is unhealthy to begin with.

We’re the problem. But we can just as easily choose to be the solution by becoming healthier people. Here are seven ways we can start being part of the solution instead of part of the problem.

1.) Be more proactive about your problems

Prior to a stunningly successful marketing campaign in 1938, Americans occasionally exchanged engagement rings, but it wasn’t a pervasive occurrence. Not only is the demand for diamonds a marketing invention, but diamonds aren’t actually that rare. Only by carefully restricting the supply has De Beers kept the price of diamonds high.

Countless American dudes will attest that the societal obligation to procure an engagement ring is both stressful and needlessly expensive. But here’s the thing – this obligation only exists because the company that stands to profit from it willed it into existence...

Life on Earth Is Looking through the Looking-Glass

Silence is in the eyes of the beholder. Everything is in the eyes of the beholder. There is subjective. There is no objective even as you think so. No two see alike. How do you even know that you see the same colors or hear the same music as another? Senses are helpful, yet they do not tell the whole story. Sometimes you want to suspend all that you think you know and be a fresh slate who sees with clear eyes. Clear eyes are eyes of love.
 
When you see a group of children, and you see your child as extremely beautiful, you are right. You are closer to Truth. And when you see all the children as beautiful, you see even closer to Truth. And when you see My light beaming out from everyone you come across, then you are Truth, and you take no days off from it. You are immersed in Truth, and you are the beauty that you see. The world is fictitious except when you see Truth underneath it all.
 
Life has a different story to tell that is outside the common domain, meaning that the world is not really a composite of what you have been taught. Many in the world are not thinking but rather going along. It takes great courage to see from your own eyes when you are told to take as fact what another may see. Who can take the right to tell you what you see when you are the only one who can know what you see and what you make of it – when you give yourself a chance to see for yourself, that is.
 
It is a shaky world that changes shape right in front of you. Seeing is believing? Perhaps believing is seeing is more accurate.

Nestle continues to sell bottled water sourced from California despite record drought

California is facing one of its most severe droughts on record, which is hurting farmers and recreation alike. But despite water restrictions, Nestle is bottling spring water from the state and selling it, creating controversy alongside profits.

Nestle owns Arrowhead Mountain Spring Water, which has been bottling water from a spring in Millard Canyon, Calif. for more than a decade. The company’s 383,000-square-foot bottling plant, which also packages purified water under the Nestle Pure Life brand, is located on the Morongo Band of Mission Indians reservation.

In January, Gov. Jerry Brown (D-Calif.) declared a drought state of emergency in preparation for water shortages, especially during the summer months. The drought has entered its third year, and water restrictions have increased throughout the Golden State.

But Nestle does not need to heed the emergency measures the state has adopted. Since its plant is on a Native American reservation – considered a sovereign nation by the US government – it is not required to comply with state regulations.

The reservation is located in a Mojave Desert oasis at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains, 85 miles east of Los Angeles. Drawing water from that location, where just three inches of rain falls each year, prevents water from seeping downhill to fill aquifers of nearby towns struggling for water during the drought.

3rd Arrest for 90-Year-Old Man Who Feeds Homeless

This guy is definitely one of our heroes! The more they fight against him, the more they expose their own tyranny!

The city of Fort Lauderdale has issued three criminal citations against him, but he says he has no fear of spending time in jail.

Arnold Abbott’s on a mission to feed the homeless and he won’t let a newly enacted law in Fort Lauderdale stand in his way.

Abbott’s been cited with a criminal violation three times since the city’s ban on “public food sharing” went into effect Oct. 22. His most recent arrest came Wednesday night, according to WSVN.com.

The station reported that Abbott, as promised, was out on Fort Lauderdale Beach feeding the homeless Wednesday when local police parted the crowd to issue the elderly man his third criminal citation. They did, however, allow him to continue feeding the hungry who had gathered.

How to Unconditionally Love Yourself

HJ: Unconditional love is your birthright and is totally possible in this life, in this moment… as soon as right now.  But the challenge is to find this unconditional love within ourselves.  Many of us wrongly believe that love can only be given by others, when in fact it comes from within.  Love can be given by others, but ultimately we must learn to find it within ourselves if we wish to experience unconditional happiness, peace, contentment, abundance and joy.  This is because these qualities only make themselves permanent in our lives when we cultivate our own self-love.  The irony is that when we love ourselves completely, we have abundant love to give and what we give, we receive.  Like anything in life, the maxim, ‘as within, so without’ applies.

It’s tough not to be disappointed with people sometimes. We’re taught to be so reliant on others for our own lives that when they fall short of our expectations, we end up being pretty unhappy about it. But maybe it’s time to rethink what our expectations are.

Don’t expect people to fit a mold that you’ve made for them.

People are independent. They are who they are, completely independent of the people around them, and that includes you. If someone doesn’t do what you want them to, that’s more your problem than theirs in most cases. So embrace people for who they are. Help them if they need it, but let them be themselves.

Don’t rely on other people for your own well-being.

Look, I know it’s hard, especially when you’re in a relationship with someone, but you need to have a life set up for yourself where you can get by just fine without anyone else helping you along, be it functionally or personally. At the end of the day, you’re the boss of you, and you should rely on yourself for happiness.

Dr. Gupta: Cannabis Research In America Is A Distorted Picture

Cannabis is listed as a Schedule I drug in the United States, meaning it is believed by our government to harbor no medicinal uses, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, and a high rate of addition, also despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

The US is asking for more research to be done on cannabis, but they’re not mentioning the fact that they’re dooming this research before it begins with ridiculous restrictions and obstacles.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta has been witness to this dysfunction, and also witness to the value of cannabis when he visited countries that fully support research into medical cannabis.

Dr. Gupta himself is reformed in terms of his thinking on cannabis. I’m thinking if he can do it, there are a lot of people in government that should be doing it too. The wonders that legal cannabis nationwide could do for people are incredible, from treating PTSD to long term, chronic pain from injury.

Remember to shut off lights, keep the thermostat below 68 degrees in the winter time, and ride your bike more often.
