The Secret of Enlightenment

"The ultimate goal of our spiritual quest is enlightenment, that is what we all wish to achieve. But why do we seek enlightenment? Perhaps because at present we feel that we are not yet what we should rightfully be, we are not yet enlightened.

What can be the reason why we are under that impression? In the first years of our life it never occurred to us that we needed to change, we needed to become somebody else, that is, we were in need of enlightenment. Then, some time during our life, that urge arose in us. It is imperative that we examine the circumstances and reasons why that emotion appeared in us, since it is that very emotion that prevents us from becoming enlightened."  Frank M. Wanderer

Holistic Astrology, Hidden History and the Quest of Aquarius

by Sana v’Ritzvah

Dark and light, yin and yang, lead and gold, diamond, stone.. this essay is not about individual enlightenment. On the contraire it is much more about individual confusion, conflict, chaos even. Further I must state I am not a practicing astrologer, simply a student and my degree is in western philosophy. So this is much more of a philosophy of astrology which I see erupting in our times. My terming of ‘holistic’ astrology can be seen as the anti-thesis of specific astrology, a theory of General Astrology, collective astrology, Jungian, Campbellian.

My hope is that General Astrology may inspire specific astrology in a deeper way.

The human species live in semi darkness. Not only do we exist in the rotation of day~night yet we are what sci-fi author Philip K. Dick described as “occluded.” This occlusion is of course necessary for any species any being which is on a learning path, a learning curve. “Real astrology shows us how the cycles of time repeat and what to expect when these cycles reappear.” Gregg Prescott, MS.

Wake Up Call

"Consciousness, which has been sound asleep under the spell of identification with the forms and shapes for thousands of years, is slowly waking up in our days. There is an increasingly powerful alarming impulse, and the number of people sensitive to the wake up call is getting bigger and bigger.

The effects of this impulse, waking us up from our dream of identification with the forms and shapes is felt by everybody, sometimes even several times a day. But many of us are unaware of what we actually experience; all we feel is that successes achievable in the world are less and less attractive for us. We recognize that behind earthly successes and failures there has to be something deeper, something more profound in our life." Frank M. Wanderer

Stray cat enters the home of a blind dog and becomes his guide

Here we have a wonderful heart warming story of the bond that is possible between a cat and a dog.

In 2012, a stray cat entered the home of a blind dog named Terfel, and became his seeing-eye guide.

Terfel had been diagnosed with cataracts and was finding it very difficult to navigate around the house. In fact, so bad was his condition the poor dog was confined to his basket to stop him from bumping into things.

However, after his owner allowed a stray cat to enter her home the dog was given a new lease of life and an incredible new friend.

That ‘Gut Feeling’: 7 Ways to Better Listen to Your Intuition

Have you ever been in a situation where your “gut feeling” told you one thing, but your rational mind said another? If you went with your brain rather than your intuition, there’s a good chance you ended up regretting your decision. Your intuition is the subconscious leader that many people fail to give proper respect to. But learning to listen to this internal compass could help you make better decisions and live a more fulfilling life.

“I define intuition as the subtle knowing without ever having any idea why you know it,” explains Sophy Burnham, bestselling author of The Art of Intuition, to The Huffington Post. “It’s different from thinking, it’s different from logic or analysis … It’s a knowing without knowing.”

It’s unconscious reasoning, the guidance that compels you to turn left when all signs may be pointing right. It’s often the whisper inside that can lead you to the best results possible, if you will just learn to let go and give it a chance.

5 Unexpected Ways to Meditate Everyday

5 Unexpected Ways to Meditate Everyday

Entering a state of mind called meditation doesn’t happen by just sitting down closing your eyes and being still. There are 3 crucial steps that are needed to guide the mind inward in seeking a meditative state. These 3 essential steps are 1. breath control 2. withdrawing senses 3. concentration.

There are various ways to achieve this state of mind,  that do not include what we know to be commonly called meditation.

Here are 5 Unexpected Ways to Meditate Everyday

1. Walking-  allows you to be more present in your body and in the present moment. The simple experience of alternating steps naturally helps to create a meditative state. The body loves movement, and by paying attention to the body as you walk, it will help you enjoy the simplicity of just being alive.
