subtle - adjective - so delicate or precise as to be difficult to analyze or describe
There are levels to this experience that go almost entirely unnoticed by the vast majority of human beings. What we call “vibes”, intuitive feelings, inexplicable bliss, they're all part of this unseen realm that only a relative few people can really tap into. While everyone has the ability, it generally fades within the first several years of life, and the subtle feelings, which are an integral part of being human, are only noticed on rare occasions.
So the question arises, how do we reconnect with these subtle feelings? There's many spiritual practices designed to do this, then there's things like sensory deprivation chambers and various substances too, though most of those substances have strangely become illegal in recent times. Those things are all fine and dandy, but I'm going to suggest something else, a much more holistic solution to reconnecting with your subtle feelings that can begin right now and follows a path you've always been walking. My suggestion is to live your life fully.
True healing encompasses all aspects of your life, through it everything is transformed. Your relationships, communication, fears, love, diet, work, passions, sexuality, emotions, creativity, self-expression, all these things change. On the surface they may look the same, and to an outside observer you may seem the same, but there's a whole new dimension added to everything. Consciousness has entered the picture and a life that was once lived automatically is now filled with awareness.
Begin here and now, with your own life. Don't make plans about some future awakening, that's only an unconscious habit that puts presence into the future. Future presence, it's an oxymoron and it's just the mind making up excuses why you can't be present now. Drop those ideas, and also realize that it's unlikely you'll release a lifetime of habits through a single effort. You'll have to keep dropping them over and over again, though each time you drop your habitual thinking, you become more aware of it and it will have less power over you.
Your own life is the road map back to God, Source, Love, and Oneness. The things holding you back couldn't be more obvious, they present themselves every single day to you, but you've become used to them. Your ego defines itself through these limiting thoughts so you behave as if they're who you are and it's just the way life is.
To give an example, and this is an almost universal thought-disease in the human world: If I only had more money... If I only had more money I'd be happy. If I only had more money I'd be satisfied. If I only had more money I could stop worrying. So your life becomes the pursuit of money, and things like happiness and satisfaction become some mental ideal that has no reality in the present. The insane thing is that these types of limited thinking are what creates your unhappiness, and unconsciously chasing your desires almost always pushes what you desire further away. Refocus your life. Center everything upon the Here and Now.
Compared to things like speaking with spirits, predicting the future, and astral travel, my advice may seem rather mundane. Many people pursue spirituality because they want to escape from their lives, and here I am telling you to focus upon your life as it is in this moment. No more escapism at all, no more escaping to the future, no more escaping to the past, just seeing the here and now as it is. You may believe you're unhappy in the present, but the source of your suffering is your thoughts of how the present should be, not how it really is.
If your present seems dull or mundane it's because of the quality of your mind. It's something you project onto your experience, and it's been anchored in place through many years of habit. Magic never really left your life, you have just lost the eyes to see it. This is why I say to focus upon your life as it is right now. Your subtle energies are going into mental constructs and the wonder and magic of your real life is being drained away. If you look carefully at your own thoughts you can watch it as it happens.
Meditation and chanting and all the spiritual practices, they're great, but in and of themselves they're not enough to bring true healing to your life. The change comes from your own Consciousness, not from some practice you added on. There's all sorts of tricks for inducing mystical experiences, and they work, but they can also feed into a kind of bipolar state where spirituality is used as an escape from your “normal” life.
Ultimately, humans suffer from only one condition, they have become divided. First it happens within, then it's projected outside and manifests as conflict, nationalism, sexism, racism and war. All the various ignorances stem from the internal division, and then they create a kind of feedback loop where a person is so focused upon the outside problems they can't even see their inner division. They can't see themselves feeding into those problems, and the blame is always on someone else.
Be careful that your spirituality doesn't divide you even more. Even something as useful as meditation can be used as an escape. Meditation can help you to bring a deeper peace and awareness to all aspects of your life, or it can be used to try to escape your life. It's a tool, and it's how you use it that counts.
Bring everything back together, all the aspects of your life. There's many different people living inside of you, your public self, your private self, your spiritual self, your professional self, bring all those people back together, merge them and your True Self is rediscovered. When you become Whole again, awareness of the subtle senses returns and even something like washing the dishes can be a deep, mystical experience. Magic returns to your Life and every breath you take is an experience of the Divine.
