He Lives In A Tree, Doesn’t Wear Shoes, And Brushes His Teeth With A Pinecone - True Activist

will's picture

A great example of someone who doesn't limit themselves based upon society's standards!

(True Activist) According to polls, the majority of Americans and many other societies are in favor of change. An estimated 20 percent believe the States are on the right track, but when it comes to health care, environmental reform, and economic division, the masses believe change is imperative. But how far are many willing to go in order to live a more sustainable, connected, and happier life?

With the conveniences of today (packaged food, media frenzy, rapid transportation), it is difficult for many to know a life different from that which has been shown to degenerate, numb, and dull the senses. Not often do kids summon creativity to work random objects into play things, for now their noses are pressed against tablets, IPads, and television screens. But things are changing, and the few, but inspirational, examples which shed light on another way of life may cause perceived ‘ideals’ to change.

For Mick Dodge, his dynamic transformation from living what modern society deems ‘appropriate’ came 25 years ago. He decided to ditch his shoes, grow his beard, and leave his family and all rest in modern civilization to live alone in the Pacific Northwest’s Hoh rain forest. But he is not a complete isolationist; he joined a community of mountain dwellers and agreed (with some persistent effort from producers) to be the subject of National Geographic’s series “The Legend of Mick Dodge”.

The Difference Between Believing In Truth And Living It

will's picture

Humans have this uncanny ability to recognize Truth, and I'm not talking about the small temporary truths like "I ate a sandwich for lunch yesterday", but the big Universal Truths. Subconsciously, part of them knows it's true, it sounds good, even if they don't consciously understand why. It's no mystery to us here as to why that is, we're not kidding when we say every Human Being IS GOD, though very few are aware of what this really means. Even to the skeptic and the atheist, something like Love or the profound wonder of the Universe is still very appealing, humans are drawn to those things like moths to a flame.

Now there's a seeming contradiction here, because if people can naturally recognize truth, then why is there still so much ignorance on the planet? Well it's one thing to recognize truth, it's another thing to believe it, and it's something else entirely to actually live that truth. For that, you have to embrace it, truly understand it, and also integrate it into your life.

Sacred Humor: Cultivating a Good Sense of Humor - Fractal Enlightenment

will's picture

waldo-finds-himself“Humor must not professedly teach and it must not professedly preach, but it must do both if it would live forever.” – Mark Twain

A good sense of humor transubstantiates the world. It dethrones the emperor in the mind while revealing he’s not even wearing any clothes. By maintaining a healthy sense of humor we avoid the stultifying situation of being in total control of ourselves, and the equally fruitless situation of losing control altogether.

Let us not be serious. Let us simply be sincere. Like Swami Beyondananda said, “It’s time to take humor seriously and seriousness humorously.” A certain infusion of laughter, even in its least popular form, is a prodigious help towards bearing the hardships of life. Self-seriousness gets us nowhere but closer to a denial of reality. Humor, on the other hand, gets us everywhere closer to a self-actualization of reality.

Live Today - Positive Thoughts

will's picture

Focus on writing your own life story, your way.

Remember that every moment counts.  Every second matters.  Honestly, whatever is given is a gift.

So don’t be so satisfied with the success stories of others and how things have gone for them that you forget to write your own.  Unfold your own tale and bring it to life.  You have everything you need to become what you are capable of becoming.  Incredible change happens when you decide to take control.  This means consuming less and creating more.  It means refusing to let others do your thinking, talking, and deciding for you.  It means learning to respect and use your own ideas and instincts to write your passage.

If you want your life story to soar to new heights, you’ve got to clear a path, reduce the time-sinks and burdens weighing you down, and pick up the things that give you wings.  Keep your best wishes and your biggest goals close to your heart and dedicate time to them every day.  If you truly care about what you do and you work diligently at it, there’s almost nothing you can’t accomplish.

A Tiny Miracle - Cosmicmessages

will's picture

A selection from the article, "A Tiny Miracle":

That [snow]flake that I watched, that touched me so deeply, was there for less than a minute and it changed my perspective. That’s all it took to shift me.

It didn’t need years and years. It didn’t need a big, grand entrance. It didn’t need money or flashing lights. It just was there for me to witness and learn from.

Maybe the answers to our questions aren’t supposed to be in letters, psychic readings or in big, obvious tones. Our prayers can be answered by looking at a tiny occurrence from a new perspective.

Washing Off the Salt Water of the Ocean - Heavenletters

will's picture
God said:

Hold no grudges. Not against a person, yourself, the world, or God.

This is the same as letting the past go, even the past of yesterday. Every day starts with a new slate. This amounts to not collecting the old. You don’t want to accumulate it. You are not meant to be a hoarder of hurts, a hoarder of wrong-doing, a hoarder of insults or anything you don’t want. Nor, beloveds, are you to be only a collector or recollector of all the good that you have received. You are to live in what is called the present.

You can’t keep adding up your stock in life. All the right and all the wrong are to be let go. You can’t keep the past to you no matter how hard you try. You will mourn the downsides and you will mourn the happiness as well, for you cannot hold either to you, and neither can stay with you forevermore.

Memories are not all they are cracked up to be, for they are memories of what is imminently changing. Even dear memories are a flash in the pan. You can’t live in the past, not the past of long ago nor the past of a minute ago.

Life is a river that flows, and it is ever-flowing and, therefore, ever-changing. Let Us say that life is like being at the beach. You love to swim at the Ocean. Sooner or later, you have to come out of the water and dry off. Therefore, you deal with life day by day. You rinse the salt off each day, and start anew the next day which, currently, as it happens, is today.

One World, Two Views - Knowing Whispers

will's picture
The path of true healing is the process of remembering our true identity in consciousness -- not the one mind and ego want you to believe, but the one that is naturally dormant and resting in our feelings.

The mind and ego have created all the pain and agony of our lives by giving us the freedom to live as many false identities as we wish.

Death is a product of the mind and imagination -- it makes us think a great chasm, or abyss, exists at the moment we leave the body, but this is not true. We are simply identifying with our hidden feelings that stretch into eternity.

Our life is a thin thread between identification with the mind and the awareness of being conscious beings.  WE exist in two worlds, but if we only identify with the mind and ego, we are more conscious of the outer one.

Nothing Written Is Ever Completely True

will's picture

I'm going to share something that's helped me immensely with understanding spiritual writings: don't believe everything that you read. I highly recommend approaching it from the understanding that the person who wrote it is very much a human being, and still growing in their personal understandings. They're still developing, and they likely have plenty of their own illusions that they're not yet aware of. What they tell you may even be 95% accurate, but there's still that 5% to watch out for.

I recommend approaching the messages this way no matter who they claim to be channeling. A 5D Being wants you to step into your Higher Self so you can be like They Are, that's what they're here for. What They're not here to do is make channelers and their followers completely dependent upon Them. That feeds into the illusion that people are weak stupid cattle, and not the amazing, blessed, and Divine Beings that Humans truly are. You all have this Connection to Truth, not just certain special people.

There's also the fact that our language is designed around communicating 2d and 3d thoughts. When I'm talking about Truth, I'm talking about God, I'm talking about the Transcendent Reality that exists beyond the limited mind. Do you have any idea how incredibly complex God Is? I can feel the wonder of this directly, but I couldn't possibly write it down. We have such a restricted vocabulary to communicate God, only a handful of words such as Oneness, Source, Spirit, Truth and Love.

Incredible Stories of Forgiveness - Portraits of Reconciliation

will's picture

20 years after the genocide in Rwanda, reconciliation still happens one encounter at a time.

Last month, the photographer Pieter Hugo went to southern Rwanda, two decades after nearly a million people were killed during the country’s genocide, and captured a series of unlikely, almost unthinkable tableaus. In one, a woman rests her hand on the shoulder of the man who killed her father and brothers. In another, a woman poses with a casually reclining man who looted her property and whose father helped murder her husband and children. In many of these photos, there is little evident warmth between the pairs, and yet there they are, together. In each, the perpetrator is a Hutu who was granted pardon by the Tutsi survivor of his crime.

Viviane Nyiramana - Survivor

Karenzi: “My conscience was not quiet, and when I would see her I was very ashamed. After being trained about unity and reconciliation, I went to her house and asked for forgiveness. Then I shook her hand. So far, we are on good terms.”

Nyiramana: “He killed my father and three brothers. He did these killings with other people, but he came alone to me and asked for pardon. He and a group of other offenders who had been in prison helped me build a house with a covered roof. I was afraid of him — now I have granted him pardon, things have become normal, and in my mind I feel clear.”

Nationalism is an Infantile Disease - Expanded Consciousness

will's picture

By: Jamie Dunmore

Each one of us, since birth, is born onto a piece of land. That’s all it is. A piece of land. It’s only as we grow up that our parents, elders, teachers, relatives and ancestors provide us with labels via the education system and media, etc. that make us believe differently. These labels make us believe that the artificial is infact, real.

We believe that ‘nationalities’ are legitimate when really, they are the biggest form of separation for the human race, besides Religion, in this generation.

Patriotism is possibly one of the most delusion qualities of the human mind right now. Is it because we want to feel whole/meaningful? Is it because we want to be a part of something, an identity, to give ourselves purpose or something to live for? Who knows.

That Awkard Moment… - Cosmicmessages

will's picture

We, as a society, have a strange relationship with silence between two individuals. We try and avoid it using, “um’s” and “ah’s”. We try and interrupt it, using coughs and clearing our throats and we try to eliminate it altogether by playing music or having a TV on all the time.

How did we get to this? Why are we so afraid of silence? Why do yoga studios decidedly leave out the meditation portion of the class? The focus is always on the yang, the movement, the sound, the conversation and never on the yin. Yin is listening, contemplative, subtle.

In journalism school we were taught to use silence as a means to get our interviewee to talk more about a subject. We were taught that people naturally are uncomfortable with long pauses and often fill it with unnecessary chatter.

Daily Message ~ Monday April 7, 2014 - Trinity Esoterics

will's picture

When you find yourself in a time that is energetically challenging, we cannot emphasize enough the importance of water. Water is absolutely essential to assist you in shifting with the energies, in the most comfortable way possible. Make sure you hydrate yourself adequately by drinking lots of water. Submersing yourself in water, particularly salt water, is incredibly cleansing and helpful. If you have become dehydrated, you are no longer in resonance with the flow, Dear Ones. The use of water, both inside and out, is such an incredibly simple way to ease the symptoms you feel as your planet, and you, continue to shift and evolve. Think of it as a wonderful elixir that will help you thrive during these changing times. ~Archangel Gabriel
