Quadrantid meteor shower peaks on January 3rd and 4th

Quadrantids are considered to be one of the best annual meteor showers, known for their bright fireball meteors - larger explosions of light and color that can persist longer than an average meteor streak.

This year, they peak on the night of January 3rd and the morning of January 4th, around 04:00 UTC. Traveling at velocity of 41 km/s (25.5 mps), Quadrantids radiate from the constellation Bootes, originally Quadrans Muralis which is now a defunct constellation. We can usually expect approximately 80 meteors per hour, however, the nearly full moon will block out most of the show this year.

Quadrantids origin is an extinct asteroid or a possible "rock comet" 2003 EH1, discovered on March 6, 2003 by the Lowell Observatory Near-Earth Object Search (LONEOS). Their peak is much shorter than an average meteor shower due to its thin stream of particles and the fact that Earth crosses the stream at a perpendicular angle.

Reincarnation: The Eastern View

BuddhistWheelofLife-1
The Buddhist Wheel of Life

Richard Smoley, New Dawn
Waking Times

Reincarnation has become an increasingly popular doctrine in the West. For example, polls taken in the US over the past couple of decades have shown that between 20 and 28 percent of the population believe in it. The figures for western Europe are similar.

What explains the appeal of an idea that until recently was the province of a few occultists and eccentrics? Some of it can be explained by the appeal of Asian religions, such as Hinduism and Buddhism, to which reincarnation has always been integral. But this does not explain much: you could turn the argument around and say that Hinduism and Buddhism are so appealing because they teach reincarnation.

Mysteries That Rewrite Human History

History is written by the victors.” – Winston Churchill

History is a wonderful and sometimes crucial aspect of reality that can give us key insight into where we have been -and where we are going.

Throughout the ages, time and time again; humans have been lied to.

Whether it be aristocracy, royalty, oppressive regimes or a slew of other tyrants humans have been fed time and time again fabricated lies to suit the agenda of these parties.

But is that period truly over?

History Rewritten

There are many holes in the fabric of mainstream history such as a map found in 1513 by Piri Reis, a famous admiral of the Turkish fleet in the sixteenth century.

Nothing Will Ever Make You Happy

feature_image_template

It’s true.

Believe the hype.

Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing in this life will make you happy.

Not your friends, not your family, not your dog, not money, not that new job, not that perfect relationship, not anything.

And the moment you understand this, is the moment you’ll find the happiness you are so desperately looking for.

More than a Human Be-ing

MORE THAN A HUMAN BE-ING   Once you remember who you are, material possessions and kudos from others loses its importance. Once you have fully gained peace and inner balance, you will begin to enjoy every moment of your life. You will feel equally balanced whether someone is yelling in your face or giving you a heart-felt hug. You will know who you are and can appreciate the opportunity of each experience on Earth.

Whenever you have an experience that leaves you feeling anything less than peaceful, take time to look at the event and uncover the reason why you are off balance. Your emotions are an excellent barometer to awaken you consciously to areas in your life that need to be addressed.

You are on a Path of ascension. If you resist words such as ascension, interject the words “be a kinder person” and say the same thing. You are on a Path to become a kinder person.

Open yourself to the possibility of the truth others speak, not shutting them out because they are of a different religion or speak words that are different from what your group uses. Find the commonalities between you and have the courage to openly question each other’s beliefs. In so doing, you may find you will have a deeper understanding of each other and some of your own belief codes.   Selamet! Akbal 6

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Must Be Defeated! - Bernia Sanders

The Trans-Pacific Partnership is a disastrous trade agreement designed to protect the interests of the largest multi-national corporations at the expense of workers, consumers, the environment and the foundations of American democracy. It will also negatively impact some of the poorest people in the world.

The TPP is a treaty that has been written behind closed doors by the corporate world. Incredibly, while Wall Street, the pharmaceutical industry and major media companies have full knowledge as to what is in this treaty, the American people and members of Congress do not. They have been locked out of the process.

Further, all Americans, regardless of political ideology, should be opposed to the “fast track” process which would deny Congress the right to amend the treaty and represent their constituents’ interests.

13 Simple Ways to Increase Productivity, Reduce Distractions and Have More Time for What’s Most Important

Overcoming Our Obsession with Productivity

Our world is obsessed with productivity.

We likely developed our obsession with productivity as a result of the industrial revolution. At least, that’s probably where the seed first sprouted.

As a result of this our focus shifted from producing quality to producing more in a shorter and shorter period of time. But this didn’t just affect the way we work. Over time it’s leached into other areas of life. Now many of us believe that’s “just how life is”.

But is this even a bad thing? Unfortunately, it has been the cause of some major downturns in our overall well-being. Most notably, I believe, is the decline of both our health and relationships.

A productivity mindset is dangerous because there’s no end to it...

Peace Is Like the Bed You Sleep On

A little peace and quiet is good. Desire peace, and have it. Peace belongs in life. Anxiety is no substitute for peace. Peace doesn’t have baggage, you understand. Peace is the absence of baggage.

Peace is its own self. Be in peace. Peace asks nothing of you but that you let go of all that is not peace. I am speaking of peace within where there is no jarring, no terror, no untoward thoughts that do not serve you. In peace, there is no upsetting the apple cart. Peace is the river that flows. It is the Ocean at low tide. In peace, there is no fomenting.

What else there is in peace is freedom. Peace doesn’t tie you up in knots. Peace is like the bed you lie on. Peace is just there, and it supports you well. Peace would never get a stranglehold on you. Peace insists on nothing but to be itself untrammeled.

Peace asks nothing of you. Peace is well-content. It needs nothing but your welcoming it. Peace belongs to you as the air you breathe belongs to you. Peace is free. It costs nothing. In fact, peace is letting go of cost and payment altogether.

Peace is with you. You may have to uncover it, however. You have to remove the slag that clings to peace. The slag consists of all the unnecessaries that would hide peace from your view.

One moment is enough. Live it, and then the next moment comes. But we dream, project, and create an illusory world, then again and again it comes up against reality. Reality is not going to be shattered by your dreams. The dreams will shatter.

So learn a lesson - don't project worlds. They create frustrations and misery and anguish. Just live this moment, that's all. Then wait, and when the next moment comes we will see.

7 Things Truth Seekers Should Stop Doing in 2015

Bernie Suarez, Guest
Waking Times

Yet another new year is upon us, and those of us fully awakened can see that the globalist plan to control humanity is rolling forward at superhighway speed as our battle for humanity rages on. So let’s ask the question, what can we do as truth seekers to improve our odds of success against this global cabal of control and oppression? Is there anything worth throwing on the table with the advent of the new year for truth seekers to consider that could actually act as a game-changer in this battle for truth, freedom, and consciousness? Actually there is.

I deeply pondered on this issue as we begin a new year and I want to share seven points that could make a big difference in our battle for humanity by bringing truth seekers together on the same page so that we can act more effectively, more efficiently and have a greater impact on the world around us in the new year. Here are seven things I believe all truth seekers should stop doing (if they are doing these), so that we can gel as a movement and strengthen our presence and impact on the consciousness of the current world. These points, I believe, will help us leave our mark on history as we push forward with the current information war of today.

Sunlight Holds Key To Killing Breast Cancer

A new study finds vitamin D — the ‘sunlight vitamin’ — strikes to the very heart of breast cancer malignancy.

Breast cancer is not what most people think. Beneath the intimidating statistics that make it seem like a juggernaut of inevitability or a time bomb of genetic determinism ready to go off in the asymptomatic breasts of millions of women, a far more complex conversation is occurring among clinicians and researchers concerning the true nature and causes of cancer, and why conventional therapies fail to turn the tide against the second highest cause of death in the Western world.  To fully appreciate this, one must go to the first hand research itself.

Are You Being Supportive Or Intrusive?

lions rainforest siteIn playing the role of a parent, a caregiver, a supportive friend, a healer, a mentor and the like, one of the most delicate balances to achieve is that between ‘being’ and ‘doing’.  The meaning of these oft used spiritual phrases are likely best understood through personal experience.

Theory cannot restrain the empathy or impulse to reach out actively to the ones we care for.  Nor can we be blind or deaf to the sometimes stated and at other times silent cries for help.  The teachings do not draw clear boundaries demarcating, “Here, it is best you step in.  Here, it is best you wait it out.

Byron Katie’s sound advice to “Mind your own business” will make complete sense at times. And at other times, the Dalai Lama’s words, “Our prime purpose in this life is to help others.” will make one wonder if not ‘doing’ anything is misguided, or erroneous in some way.
