“I wish I’d had a few thousand more words, because then I would have really unloaded what I knew,” Hastings said of any potential regrets over the Rolling Stone article that ended up costing McChrystal his job, adding that he had no idea the furor his piece would cause. “I figured that it would be talked about on cable news for a couple hours. I think I brought a suit with me back to Afghanistan just in case there was any TV interest.”

Initially I think there was justification in that leadership officials thought people weren’t ready to handle it. But we are well past that now. Frankly, and this is just personal opinion, remember what (President) Eisenhower said in his final speech: “Beware the military industrial complex.” I suspect that’s what we’re talking about.

But it’s not just military. It’s a cabal of organizations primarily for a profit motive. We invented aircraft at the beginning of the 20th century.

Organizers are also inviting people from all over the country to rise in their support. They remind that Thursday marks the 176th anniversary since the birth of Bulgaria's national hero and Apostle of Freedom, Vasil Levski.

Three quotes from Levski are distributed among the protesters: "We need actions, not words," "Everything depends on our common effort," and "Brotherhood for everyone, regardless of religion and nationality."

On the night of February 24, 1942, an incident that has come to be called "The Battle of Los Angeles" erupted in the California sky. It happened less than three months after the U.S. had entered WW2.

 

An unidentified flying object was spotted, air raid sirens sounded, and a blackout was ordered. By the end of the "battle," over 1400 anti-aircraft shells (12.8 pounds each) had been fired at the object but the 37th Coast Artillery Brigade could not bring it down.

 

Several buildings were damaged by friendly fire, three civilians were killed by the anti-aircraft fire, and another three died of heart attacks attributed to the stress of the hour-long bombardment.

Many people by now are well aware that 1947 was a pivotal year in the history of mankind in as much as proof of extraterrestrial contact was made. As a result of that contact an inflexion in human events occurred as an entire security state emerged with the government being forced to conceal and mitigate a forbidden truth that could have caused conventional institutions in our society to collapse. The preservation of basic human beliefs was at stake as far as authorities were concerned.

Yet, few people are aware that there was a growing presence of aerial sightings being reported prior to the Roswell incident in 1947 or the Kenneth Arnold sighting in Washington State. The number of sightings that were attracting public attention were growing to a fever pitch, and the Roswell incident became the culmination of a growing hysteria among people who sensed that something earth shattering was afoot and about to blow open any time.
