A smashing 80 percent majority of Spaniards are becoming mistrustful of their prime minister, Mariano Rajoy, due to his failure to resolve the country’s sovereign debt crisis, a poll suggests.

The Metroscopia poll, published in left-leaning newspaper El Pais, also showed 72 percent consider the prime minister not to be efficient to fight the economic crisis, Reuters reported on Sunday.
The sharp fall in support for Rajoy comes after his government announced a new round of deep spending cuts and tax hikes to fight the debt crisis.
