The moment we realize something isn’t right with this world is the moment we begin a journey of awakening.
For some, it starts with exposure to alternative news and social/geopolitical topics, and for others, it starts with exposure to alternative forms of spirituality.
The common theme that ties each awakening together is that someone realizes there’s something profoundly wrong with the world and they aren’t powerless to make a change.
When we discover that our governments have never really worked in our favor and certainly aren’t interested in doing it now, our entire programmed view of reality comes crashing down so we can replace it with something new.
We see the lies we previously accepted for what they truly are, and we no longer watch apathetically as our governments try to control us.
We actively contribute to the downfall of corruption and oppression while maintaining peace toward those who try to rule us, and we step onto a whole new level when we discover spiritual concepts that liberate us from within.
We find out about meditation and give it a try, and some of us find that it’s the missing link between us and a higher consciousness and we’ve needed it the whole time. We discover art – writing, music, painting; poetry – and we use it to express our thoughts, feelings and intuitive musings.

At that point, creativity and spirituality essentially merge as we devote our life to both of them.
Our creative time can become our meditation time (I’d still recommend setting aside time for meditation), and this can allow us to bridge the gap between the two.
Creativity connects us with a higher consciousness by forcing us to rely on ourselves and what we have within, and the more we do it, the more we connect with our creator.
This is why things like writing, painting and music are thrilling enough for people to dedicate their life to them; they uplift the spirit for those who do them and see, hear or read them.
As human and spiritual beings, we thrive from self-expression, and creativity is our sole reason for being here. We’re here to create to our heart’s content and share our creation with anyone else who might enjoy it, and it can uplift us as much as them.
On a deeper level, beyond the need for revolution and the replacement of governments with a new way of life, creating is our life purpose and our reason for being here.

We’re on this earth to express ourselves and support the expressions of everyone else, and as we become socially and spiritually aware, we can use practically any form of creative work help our causes and boost our spirituality.
The same can be said about meditation, and a lot of creative people make time for meditation because it helps their creative insight flow.
They’ll tell you all about the benefits of meditation for creativity and self-expression, and the reason there are so many benefits is because meditation does for us what creativity does (and relies on); it enhances our connection with a higher consciousness.
We have to be somewhat connected already if we want to create anything significant, which meditation helps with, but once we have at least a small connection, dedicated creativity will enhance it greatly.
A combination of creativity and meditation will do wonders, because they’ll each support each other in lifting us up higher and higher.
Even though creative work is work, it’s worth our time and energy. We just have to make sure our heart is in it 100%, and if we don’t, distractions will quickly set in and we’ll stray from our work easily.
When our heart is in it, we’ll be so dedicated that our work will become our life purpose; the thing we live and breathe for. As it does, our dedication will increase because we’ll have more to be excited about.
We’ll have more to look forward to, and we’ll have an inner wellspring of creativity to drink from constantly. We’ll always be inspired and excited to work, and our ideas will flow at a pace we can hardly control.
We can expand our creative potential far beyond what most of us expect, but it requires dedication.
If we can overcome our limits, however, we’ll realize that this is what everyone should be allowed to do. Anyone who wants to create should be given the time and space to hone their craft and get good enough to help the world with it in a big way.

We have the right to be creative, just like we have the right to live the way we want as long as we don’t hurt anyone. Governments are obsessed with controlling and regulating the behavior of citizens, but we have the right to live freely and this includes the right to be creative.
Let’s reclaim all of our rights, and let’s remember to have faith in this awakening. We can contribute something significant to it, but only if we’re sufficiently inspired and willing to dedicate our life to it.
