Big Story Weather from April 10: Another busy day across the middle of the United States with this large and powerful low pressure system moving across the region. The winter weather included snowfall amounts around 8-12 inches through Eastern South Dakota and also 3-5 inches for Minnesota. Parts of Texas and Oklahoma also saw ice and some minor accumulation. Severe weather was also present with the storm yesterday as we had reports of 4 tornadoes in Arkansas along with 2 in Missouri. There was also a reported wind gust of 101mph in Southern Missouri.
Big Story Weather Discussion for April 11: The strong area of low pressure will move into the Great Lakes today bringing rain and snow to the region. Also look for showers to spread along the warm front into the Northeast. The cold front will be the line for another round of strong to severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. Snow will still be found on the backside of the low over the Northern Plains where places could easily see another 2-4 inches of snow. High pressure over Texas is bringing some unseasonably cold air to the region. A nice day for most of the West.
