I’m watching Occupy Together unfold and watching my own responses to it.

Usually when people engage in a social action, they give it all they’ve got, paint the one side as good and the other side as evil, pile up the statistics, ransack heaven and earth for anything that supports their position.

I don’t much feel like doing that. I’m not even sure I’d feel like that if the situation was dire. It looks dire, but I don’t think it is.

Yes, the 99% have been shorn of many constitutional protections, have had their incomes reduced to dire straits for some, on the rocks for others, but at the same time we know that, behind the scenes, the situation has already been righted and we’re just waiting for the cameras to roll and the new social contract to be announced,

Of course, we’re privileged to know what’s going on behind the scenes but that just makes it more important to act from that knowledge.

But even if that too were not the case, I still don’t feel like painting the one side as good and the other side as evil. Actions evil, yes. People evil, no.  To say that we’re at the end of duality means something, I think. To say that the energies are rising also means something.

I don’t feel like hanging George Bush Sr. from a lamp post, whether he thinks he deserves it or not. I just want the old way (of shafting people) to stop. I just want to get on with building the new social structure. Like some of the really eloquent men and women on the street of Occupy Wall Street, I just wish the dark ones would get that we’ve woken up, we see you, we do know what’s going on.

I’d like them to know that their attempts to launder Monsanto through Madison Avenue, or convince us that burning coal is good for our health, or that fracking is my friend have failed.

They sold us a war that devastated nations. They convinced us that chemtrails were good for moderating the sun. They persuaded us that turning the Gulf into fossil-fuel gumbo never really happened in the first place and has gone away anyways. Or that Katrina was seen to. Or that Sendai, Haiti and Chile were just bad luck.

I want the lying, murdering, pollution, pandemics, toxic vaccines and all the other underhanded attempts to ensure Paradise for the rich and the parking lot for the poor to end.

Undoubtedly the divine order will require an accounting and I think the people deserve to know the truth. But beyond that, I just want to get on with ending starvation on the planet, ending homelessness, seeing to the sick, disabled, and elderly, and building our new life.

I’m not really concerned with looking good or looking smart or exacting a pound of flesh. In just want this world to work, as I know it can and as it long has been able to, but has been prevented. Get out of the way of that and I’m happy.
