Dear Reader,,

The proposed Doe Branch Mine will allow mountaintop removal mining just 10 miles away from Breaks Interstate Park, a beautiful gorge on the Kentucky-Virginia border, which is considered to be the Grand Canyon of the South. Mountaintop removal is a dangerous form of coal mining that literally involves the removal of mountains' summits. This particular mine will destroy over 1,100 acres of mountaintops and dump toxic waste into nearby waterways in one of the nation's most beautiful areas. Add your voice to protect Breaks Interstate Park before it's too late.

Only a handful of corporate barons will profit from this mine while nearby communities will have to deal with the toxic clean up. When the environmental and health costs continue to accumulate, will it still be worth it in the end? Tell the EPA to do its job and protect the health and safety of humans.

We cannot ignore the consequences of this proposed mine. While corporate profit is temporary, the impacts of this mine will last for generations.

Call on the EPA to stop the Doe Branch Mine and protect Breaks Interstate Park from being irreparably scarred.
