From The Get Go

will's picture

Right from the get go, we are drilled with the message that we are sinners. We stand accused and assume our guilt. The trial is short. It feels like there is nothing that can be done. The stealth of the enemy is part of its strategy. It was a murderer from the beginning. Choking the precious connection we feel to the true identity slowly decreases the sense of worth. Most people never question it. Maybe this decreasing lack of self-worth is part of the reason we feel compelled to hang on to the traditional belief in Jesus. Maybe another part of the reason is lack of connection with the soul.

That we are one with what is always forever eternal is the bottom line to the gospel message. Many have missed this point because of the choice to take the story of Jesus literally like everyone else. Risking eternal damnation and social abandonment was never an option. Few alternatives existed other than to become identified with our sinfulness. We got glued to it. The circumstances appeared to be outside of our control. Justice had no grounds. The defense was non-existent because of the automatic agreement to guilt. From the get go there was powerlessness, hopelessness and defeat due to lack of awareness of the soul.
