Openness of heart means non-attachment, going with the flow of life without expectations. As soon as you have expectations, you're no longer in the present, the consequence is a mind-based life that leads to frustrations. The world will never meet all your expectations because these expectations are all self-made, they come from your mind trying to create security. That's not how creation works. Creation is inherent to life, it is a natural, highly intelligent process, whereas your mind creates illusions.
Illusion is the nature of your reality. You're living a dream that some like to turn into a nightmare. You are still asleep but you will soon will awaken, then you will discover life. The true essence of your being is life. You go through your day trying to control it, looking at everything and everyone as a separate event or a separate person. Your life is a series of mind fabrications, a story you build to persuade your self that it is separate from the Source. In fact you are just a projection of energy from your soul, and if you were surrendering to life, you would serve your soul perfectly.
Life is what happens to you when your mind is busy making other plans. It is the core of your being waiting to be released, the dancer joining the dance in Oneness. Life is unfolding as it should, by trying to control life, you're missing it. Mind and ego keep you separate from the blissful flow.
To awaken is to open your eyes to the beauty of the divine plan underlying your incarnation, because who you are is divine and you are part of the plan.
You are not your ego or your small self. Only a total surrender to your experiences will show you the joy of discovery and learning. Within this total surrender you can find true life.
