The effusive and mildly explosive eruption continues and has been gaining strength. KVERT reports increasing tremor (amplitude of 73.4 mcm/s today). Strombolian activity at the summit crater accompanies effusion of several lava flows on the north-west, west and south-western volcanic flanks.
Satellite data showed a big thermal anomaly over the volcano. Gas-steam plumes containing small amount of ash extended 150 km to the south-east of the volcano.
