Let's look at the most divine gift you can give both yourself and the world... loving YOU!

  • Hold up your hand if you have been too busy lately to really love and nurture yourself.
  • Hold up your hand if there is a little voice inside your head reciting every reason under the sun why you can't put time aside for you...
  • Hold up your hand if you feel that you are swamped with responsibility, kids, job, partner, life's events, chores, people, pets, pressure, deadlines, the end of the world, demands, demands, demands.
  • Hold up you hand if, on a level, you feel guilty, unworthy, ashamed or just plain scared of who you would be if you truly truly were yourself.

If you are holding your hand up to any of these things, then I honour you. I am holding up my hand right there with you.

Busy,busy, busy

As a self-employed, multi-tasking, home-schooling mother, running an busy organisation just for the love of it, I often find myself putting everyone else's needs ahead of my own. Even though I have become incredibly adept at taking care of myself over the years, I still periodically, appear to be an expert at putting myself last. Perhaps it is even an weird kind of laziness, after all, it's often easier to take care of others rather than ourselves.

The paradox is that I love everything I do. It feels innate within my being, an earnest expression of my soul to be of divine service. Yet, there aren't always enough hours in the day to do it all. Finding the balance between being of divine service to others AND myself sometimes goes awry. One cannot exist in its fullness without the other... yet the reality of the situation is that, at times, we just need to step back from it all and take time, purely for ourselves. Sometimes we just need to totally love ourselves up!

We all need to Love ourselves

Everyone, no matter who, no matter what circumstance needs to love themselves. It's a basic human foundation. Without loving ourselves we just slowly start to wither away to dust or become brittle and cold.

We still need a reminder at times. So let's love ourselves. Let's not wait a moment longer. The time is now! Even if it is just fleeting, a momentary pause and breath of air, allowing the song a bird to nourish the soul or the stillness of night to send a gentle breeze through our golden wings. It might be a little (or long) walk outside, painting, drawing, writing, singing, bathing, massaging, laughing, smiling, creating. We all know what nurtures us. And when we nurture ourselves, the ripples really do pulsate outwards.

This is the most divine gift you can give yourself.

It is also the most powerful gift you can give to the world.

By loving YOU, you send out a message of unconditional love to all sentient beings.

    Love yourself,
    exactly as you are,
    right now...

So, in one of my deeply self loving moments... I created this little reminder below.
This is for you, my friends, my fellow sentient beings, this is for us all.
