Major Manipulator of US Laws Exposed

will's picture

A private organization known as the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) who has been working behind the scenes to promote corporate interests in the U.S. federal and state governments, has recently had their activities brought into the light. They have been making it more difficult for private citizens to sue corporations, undermining efforts to raise workers' wages, promoting GMOs, fighting efforts to limit pesticide use, making it easier for businesses to poison the environment, promoting laws requiring IDs for voting, helping to keep elections privately financed, promoting numerous laws designed to make the extremely wealthy even richer, increasing prison terms, and opposing prison alternatives.

And this list is only a fraction of the crimes they've been committing by subverting democracy to serve the interests of a very small and very rich portion of the population. All of the politicians who have been working with them (and the list is enormous) should be removed from office and not allowed to hold any government job ever again. The corporations who fund ALEC (again, an enormous list) should be pressured into dropping their support, and be given a clear message that their manipulation of U.S. and international policies to line their greedy pockets will no longer be tolerated. Already, corporations have been dropping their support of ALEC because of the negative publicity,  but we need to send an unmistakable message that Humanity is watching their actions closely and will not sit idly by.

We have been given a blessed tool, the Internet, that allows people to connect in ways that were impossible only decades ago. All of the secrets are coming out into the open, and it's not going to be a very pleasant experience for those trying to conceal their crimes. These people are encouraged to come clean and discover the joy of working together to a grander vision of society, instead of fighting against evolution.
