SALINAS, Calif. — A moderate earthquake has rattled a coastal area of central California with hundreds of residents reporting feeling the temblor.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude 5.3 quake struck shortly before midnight Saturday. It was centered near King City, about 40 miles southeast of Salinas.
