Third Quarter Moon Phase
Beautiful Venus stations retrograde at approximately 10:30 am EDT today at 23 Gemini 59, and will remain retrograde until June 27 when it stations direct at 07 Gemini 29. When we say a planet stations retrograde it means it appears to move backward in the sky. The day a planet stations retgrograde usually makes things, including people, go a little haywire. Sometimes this even happens the day before the planet stations retrograde, which certainly seemed to be the case yesterday. Venus retrograde is going to do three things: 1) it will strengthen relationships that withstood the recalibration of the May 5th super-conjunction of the Sun, the Black Moon and Jupiter and cause relationships that are not solid to go under; 2) it is going to increase our level of sensitivity (our intuitive, psychic sensitivity. You may have already noticed that you are more sensitive to energy and events since the super-conjunction.); and 3) it is going to shift us into different life circumstances.
Remember also that the super-conjunction brought a mystical re-connection (direct hit) with the planet. While Venus is retrograde, we will begin to participate even more deeply with the dreaming of the planet. (The planet is a divine being - an Aeon, as the Gnostics said - and we are a manifestation of her imagination, creative companions on her journey home.)
The Sabian symbol for the degree Venus stations retrograde is "children skating on ice." It references the need to make the most of challenging situations and to acknowledge and adjust to changes as they develop. It speaks to skating over difficulties and to avoid being out on thin ice or ice that is cracking. I've chosen the snow fox here as a visual representation of the energy because there is also an element to the retrograde where we can be deceived or outfoxed. In Animal Speak, Ted Andrews writes that fox symbolizes shifting situations and to keep ourselves camoflauged to some degree. It also represents that magic is afoot, which is certainly the case at this point in time. But keep in mind that people working from their core fears will be triggered into ruses to deceive others in an effort to manipulate events to their desired outcomes. It won't work, but it will create a lot of drama if you become entangled.
The Sabian symbol for the degree Venus stations direct is "an old fashioned well." It references deep wisdom and speaks to the fact that we will develop untapped inner resources during the retrograde. Both symbols reference water in some way, and water represents emotions. The circumstances that alter during the retrograde will take us into ever-greater alignment with our deepest experience of life in our journey with Gaia. (Note I say "deepest" experience and not "highest" experience because contrary to popular belief, ascension/enlightment doesn't take us "out there" or "up there" - it takes us "down there" and "in there" with the planet, not a lofty external realm. This deception is one of the great tricks - the great ruses - of dark forces.)
Take note of what transpires today and watch the involution of events during the retrograde. By the time we reach June 27, our feelings and abilities will be running deep.
