The Perth metropolitan area has recorded more than three times its average monthly rainfall for March, its wettest in more than 40 years.
A cold front which passed over the southern half of the state dumped more than 23 millimetres of rain in Perth.
The weather bureau says so far this month the city has received almost 70 millimetres of rain, while the average is 19 millimetres.
