BOCA GRANDE, FL - It's a first for Boca Grande; a red tide alert system is now in place on the popular island. The monitoring effort went online as large fish kills washed in from the Gulf of Mexico last month.
In the Boca Bayou, dead fish last washed in weeks ago; and some remain even still.
