Somewhere Out There …. no, not Fievel

Nearly a year ago, National Geographic commissioned a survey about Americans and their belief or skepticism about aliens.  The survey revealed that a vast majority believe aliens are real and that the government is hiding information from us.

  • Believe there are signs aliens have visited Earth  -  77%
  • Believe Men In Black type agents threaten those who report seeing aliens  -  55%
  • Believe aliens have already visited humans  -  36%
  • Believe the government has hidden information on UFOs from the public  -  88%
  • President Obama would be a better leader than Mitt Romney if an alien invasion were to happen  -  65% (let’s not forget this is from June 2012)
  • Do not not believe in UFOs  -  17%

Where do you fall in the survey?

From April 29 to May 3 this year, a “Citizen’s” Hearing on Disclosure was head at the National Press Club.  The hearing is being arranged by the Disclosure Project.  And just what is the Disclosure Project?  According to their web site:

The Disclosure Project is a research project working to fully disclose the facts about UFOs, extraterrestrial intelligence, and classified advanced energy and propulsion systems. We have over 500 government, military, and intelligence community witnesses testifying to their direct, personal, first-hand experience with UFOs, ETs, ET technology, and the cover-up that keeps this information secret.

Steven Greer

Dr. Steven Greer

By the way, the Disclosure Project holding an event at the Press Club is nothing new.  They hold them frequently, the last being in 2012.

A lot of people have been rather scathing in their mentions of the Project or the Project’s Founder, Dr. Steven Greer.  Even Rachel Maddow made light of the Citizen’s Hearing on her MSNBC show.

There are several things that give me pause to reflect on the validity or not of the subject matter pf UFOs and alien beings.

Florida UFO

This is a couple of frames from a video that was taken in the Florida Keys (Oct. 2012). This is very similar to the object we saw in Florida.

To begin with, I have seen things that cannot be readily explained.  A little over a year ago, my wife and I both saw an object shoot across the Florida sky above the Gulf of Mexico from South to North at incredible speed.  It was much faster than any of the jets we saw in the distance.  In fact they could have been still when judged by the speed of the object.

While I cannot say what I saw was an alien spacecraft, but it was an object that was flying and I have no idea what it was.  I think that is pretty much the standard definition of a UFO.

The second part that makes me take stock of what is going on, is the great number of of former government, military, and intelligence personnel along with a lengthy list of aviators who have first hand knowledge of events or were very close eye-witnesses to craft or … other things.

Cooper and Mitchell

Gordon Cooper (top); Edgar Mitchell (bottom)

Presidents Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan reported seeing UFOs.  Others include:  Arthur C. Clarke, Mick Jagger, John Lennon, David Bowie, William Shatner, Shirley MacLaine, Will Smith, Werner Von Braun, former UK Defence Minister Lord Hill-Norton, former AZ Governor Fyfe Simington, former Congressman Dennis Kucinich, and Muhammad Ali.

A report of an interview conducted with Apollo astronaut Edgar Mitchell and Gemini pioneer, Gordon Cooper said, “The evidence points to the fact that Roswell was a real incident and that indeed an alien craft did crash and that material was recovered from that crash site, says Mitchell, who became the sixth man on the moon in the Apollo 14 mission. Mitchell doesn’t say he’s seen a UFO. But he says he’s met with high-ranking military officers who admitted involvement with alien technology and hardware. Cooper told a U.N. committee recently, Every day in the U.S.A., our radar instruments capture objects of form and composition unknown to us. Cooper speculates that public skepticism toward UFOs will shift dramatically.”

The question many people should ask is why … why would any of these highly respected government, military, aviation, and intelligence witnesses purposely tarnish their own reputations by saying something they believe is false.

Below are a few good interviews and testimony from witnesses.
