Strange Lights Seen in Pacific Ocean

will's picture

A dutch pilot was flying from Hong Kong to Alaska recently when he noticed strange lights in the Pacific ocean near the Kamachatka peninsula. The pilot assumes the lights were caused by an underwater volcano, but there was another odd occurrence at the time, a lightening strike in the same area despite there not being a thunderstorm nearby. You can also see different colored lights in the image, which as far as I know, doesn't coincide with an underwater volcano. Others have suggested UFOs and fishing lights as the cause, though the exact reason for the lights remains a mystery. (source)
