This satellite, courtesy of NOAA, captured Krosa as it was making landfall on Luzon late Thursday.
After strengthening into a typhoon Thursday morning, local time, Krosa is making landfall on the Philippines' northern Luzon Island.
Typhoon Krosa will then spend Thursday night crossing northern Luzon.
As a result, damaging wind gusts of over 150 kph are expected across northern Luzon, well north of the capital city of Manila and other highly populated areas, along with a dangerous storm surge along the eastern and northern coasts. The heaviest rainfall will also be north of Manila.
