One World Rising July 25, 2013
Music to read by below:
I am sure there is many a weary traveler out there wondering and asking “How do I find peace?” It seems to elude so many in this confused and hostile world right now, but it is there for the taking if we just open our eyes and mind wide enough to realize it. Yes, as we hear so often it does come from within, but how, some scream out of frustration. Peace within comes from accepting life as it is and learning how to feel gratitude for it just as it is with all of its imperfections. When we don’t accept what is around us in the world as it is, we are struggling and fighting to make things the way we want them, and this is an endless struggle. We might as well jump in a raging river and begin swimming upstream.
The world is constantly shifting forwards and backwards, up and down, in and out. It is constantly changing to adapt to what is. It will never be fully at peace. There is always the opposites of good and bad, light and dark, turmoil and calm, sunshine and storms, that is life as it ebbs and flows in its never-ending dance. To find peace we must learn how to accept these truths and more importantly be grateful for them. Without hate we could not come to understand the meaning of love, without war we could not come to understand peace. This dichotomy is a part of being in this world and if we learn to accept this and not fight it, then peace will come to our hearts. We learn to work with both sides, finding the lessons within them and feeling gratitude for the experience of knowing them.
Go out and spend time with nature and you will find the whole story of life and how it interacts to survive. Look at the garden you tend and weed and sing to. It cannot thrive and produce for you if it does not have both storms and sunlight, light to grow in and darkness to rest by. All of nature has its own oppositions as does all of life and from this we are able to learn how best to live our own lives gracefully. The main point to grasp from this, is that there are never two opposites, separate entities, they are both one making up life as it is. One needs the other to exist and so do we. Everything is working together as one and should be viewed as such, not as conflicting opposites.
As we learn to accept these ways of being and how to flow along with them, we learn how to be supple and yielding and open to all that is. Our hearts and minds are not shut but remain open to all possibilities allowing us to grow and be as we are meant to do. If we look again at nature we can see the truth of this. In a strong storm would you rather be a stiff dead tree or a bending blade of wheat? Whatever is able to bend is able to stay strong in the end. We cannot fight against what is going on but rather we must find ways to bend and flow around it. If we do not agree with or like what we are witnessing, we must then create what it is we want within ourselves and then offer it up to others so the circle remains unbroken.
Peace does indeed begin with each of us and how we live our own lives. This is where our work must take place to save the world. Once we find our own peace within, then we pass it along to others and the circle of life continues to flow. Do not fall into the dark ones trap. Stay strong in your heart and mind, stand on your own two feet, think for yourself and follow the laws of nature and we will prevail.
Blessings to us all,
