- Emissions of gas and ash now occur at an average of two events per hour at Popocatepetl volcano (Mexico). Volcanic tremor at the volcano has subsided to background levels. Small earthquakes remain visible on the Popocatepetl seismogram today.
- Volcanic tremor at Pacaya (Guatemala) (station PCG), while still continuous, appears to be easing from previous levels. The same goes for volcanic tremor recorded at nearby volcanoes Fuego (station FG3) and Santa Maria (station STG6).
- Magnitudes of volcanic earthquakes jumped-up overnight at San Miguel volcano (El Salvador) (station VSM), but this occurs frequently at this volcano and likely does not portend anything exciting.
- Numerous volcanic earthquakes at San Cristobal volcano (Nicaragua) (station CRIN) have merged back into banded tremor. Volcanic tremor remains high at Masaya volcano (station MASN) and volcanic earthquakes mingle with pulses of tremor at Telica volcano (station TELN) again today.
- Small local earthquakes dot seismograms at Nevado Del Ruiz volcano (Colombia)(station OLLZ).
- Reventador volcano (Ecuador) (station CONE) exhibits its usual mix of tremor and volcanic earthquakes today.
- Trains of small “chugging” earthquakes are visible on seismograms at Tongariro volcano (New Zealand) this morning. The events are diagnostic of fluid/gas movement within the volcano. Continuous low-level tremor at Ruyapehu has eased slightly but small local earthquakes are still taking place at the voclano. Meanwhile White Island volcano rumbles-on with continuous volcanic tremor.
- Recent satellite imagery shows mainly diffuse gas plumes drifting from Popocatepetl, Nevado Del Ruiz, and Ambrym volcanoes, while a strong SO2 anomaly forms a bulls eye over Nyiragongo volcano (DRC).
