Choices
Why do people choose to live in fear, and then when the inevitable results of that choice come, they blame God? Your life is a result of your choices, is it not? You have no one but yourself to blame for your suffering, and you also have no one but yourself to blame for your joy. This may seem like a curse to those still living within fear, but one must take personal responsibility for the way their life is before they can create real change. Then that curse becomes a blessing, and the energy that was sucked up by fear can instead be used for joy.
Attachment
Illusion tries to copy Reality, but illusion has no real substance and can only mimic what’s Real. In Reality you have Love, which is the very core of the experience you are now having, while in illusion you have attachment, which keeps one stuck inside the illusion. People may say “I love this” or “I love that” but what they’re really talking about is desire, not Love. True Love is given freely, no strings attached, and when you truly Love something, you don’t try to capture or control it.
Attachment is foolish, first and foremost because you can’t really own anything. People believe they own objects because the government enforces the ownership through violence. Even your physical body is really just a rental, and it’s not always going to do what you want it to do. The moment people stop trying to own things is the moment they learn to be happy with what they’ve got. You can be happy even when you don’t get what you want, or you can be miserable even when you do get what you want. Attachment is never really satisfied until it’s let go of entirely.
It feels like attachment and surrender are closely related...I have been trying to live....'the way it is...is the way it is"
