An issue regarding people who are given no help what so ever in times of serious crisis because they happen to be Native American and live on a reservation.

On 30th August 2011 the people of Blackfeet reservation in Montana were told they could not use their water supply for anything, apparently there had been some sort of an attack on the water supply and it was not able to be used until the test results came back. This could have taken anything up to 2 weeks they did not know how long.
As soon as The Red Nation Society (A Social Network site created by Mr C. Tatsey www.therednatinsociety.ning.com ) heard of this, within minutes, the Red Cross in Montana was contacted and the representative (Ms C. Tone - Red Cross, Montana) informed the caller (Mr L Scudder - Washington State):
"The Red Cross does not help Native Americans on a Reservation. This is the responsibility of the government"
A short time later the Red Cross was called again by someone else (Ms D Shoemake - Mississippi) for help and that person was informed by Ms. Tone:
"It is the responsibility of the Water provider to give emergency water to the people."
No water was provided, even though the Montana Fire service promised they would get Fresh water to the people, the local stores increased the price of bottled water so much people could not afford to buy it themselves and had to rely on joining money together with other households to buy enough water to ration out. Mr Tatsey travelled 200 miles round trip to buy water for his people to drink.
I have since been told by a very leading figure living on the Blackfeet Reservation (Mr C. Tatsey) that:
"Any time there is a problem with anything that affects our people, they get no help whatsoever from anywhere and have to deal with things themselves. The Native American people are simply left to their own devices and no help is ever offered, suggested or given, by any government either Federal or State."
Is this right? Is this Moral? What use are these charities if they don't help people in serious trouble or they are picking and choosing who to help? Politics should ever come into caring for our fellow man, if politicians get upset at this statement, then they should stop filling their pride about things they don’t do and do something to get help to people, instead of messing up the work of honest people who just want to help a brother in trouble.
I am sure that the Red Cross do great works for the masses, but masses of people begin with 1 person coming for help and surely when you ask for help from the American Red cross for the Native AMERICAN People, then why can't they be helped? I am not Native American myself but I cannot stand by and watch a Charity, whom I once admired and trained with, let people down, especially people of their own Country.
This is wrong, the people of Browning, Montana needed help and they were left wonting. Deal with the Crisis and then the politics, people don't care about politics when they have no water, they NEED it! Water is life; would you see a baby or a Frail elderly person die for the want of a glass of water?
When Charities begin to pick and choose who they help according to numbers and politics, and how much media time they have, then it is time they stepped back and let others do the work. Governments do not care for the Native American Race; this has been proven time and time again. It is time the charities help them in a crisis such as Montana and many other tribes have had. If this hurts people into action then I am glad because it’s wrong that we allow this kind of institutional racism to go on.
TV cameras are not needed to help someone, they just get in the way, there is no need to have the help spread all over either, a great hero is a person who does a noble deed and no one knows unless the recipient tells, people have troubles, that’s a fact of life and when that happens it is the right thing to do to help them over it.
There is never an excuse not to help people EVER.
Just because Native American people live in one of the Richest Countries in the world, it does not mean they get any of that wealth; in fact they could be classed as a forgotten race or even a developing world nation (What was called 3rd world in previous years).
Kick this racism where it should be, into the dirt. I know this may be a dream but there is no room or place for Racism and when it is clearly shown by renowned institutions then it is time stand up and say ‘Enough, this must stop’.
Mr Scudder wrote to Native American Legal Fund for legal help and Ms R. Cumy replied stating:
‘The Litigation Management Committee did review your request and unfortunately we not able to provide any assistance at this time. However, they did suggest that you contact the Blackfeet Tribal Legal Department, Montana Indian Legal Services, Indian Law Clinic at the University of Montana in Missoula and the Montana Indian Bar Association. I hope one or some of these places can help. Thank you for your interest in our organization.’
I don’t know if this is ‘passing the buck’ or if this is really the case, but this; 'making excuses not to help people has to stop here and now!!! Let’s not sit and talk about what we can and can’t do, just get up and do!!

"I could become enraged, but I decide not to, and join with others of love and light energy to tip the scales of the controlling negative consciousness targeting these people, through love and truth, in strength, clarity, protection, guidance, peace, health and well-being. And so it is, and let it be." - Butterfly Magic
