Thousands of Bahraini protesters have staged a demonstration against the Al Khalifa regime outside the capital, Manama, to demand the release of political prisoners.

Since mid-February 2011, thousands of pro-democracy protesters have staged numerous demonstrations in the streets of Bahrain, calling for the Al Khalifa family to relinquish power.

Two years and four months have passed since the outbreak of protests in Bahrain. The Bahraini government, backed by the US and Gulf states, has failed to put forward a solution to the crisis, which has been aggravating politically, socially, ideologically and at the security level.

"We want to revolt against the authorities that have confiscated the people's value, undermined the people's decisions and sovereignty in favor of their own personal interests, monopolizing the nation's resources by unjust laws that confiscated the people's rights and restricted their movement and activities," the statement added.

Al Marzooq: 448 protests in 1 month prove the vital need for political solution in Bahrain

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Last month, Bahrain witnessed more than 448 protests that march the streets on a nightly basis calling for democratic transition.

“The nationwide movement in Bahrain is demanding a democratic participatory political system in place of the current tyranny and dictatorship,” he stated.
