50 billionaires received over $11 million in government subsidies, including David Rockefeller, the Walton Family, Charles Schwab and others.
Last month it was revealed that a number of billionaires received government welfare in the form of farm subsidies. David Rockefeller was among the dozens of billionaires working the system for government subsidies, taking over $11 million of tax money.
The report, released by the Environmental Working Group revealed that the federal government paid $11.3 million in taxpayer-funded farm subsidies from 1995 to 2012 to 50 billionaires or businesses in which they have some form of ownership.
The billionaires who got the subsidies have a collective net worth of $316 billion, according to Forbes magazine.
According to the report, David Rockefeller received $563,715 in corn, soybean, wheat, oat, sorghum and other farm subsidies from 1996 to 2006.
