Women have long kept their health lore confined to their close female communities.  Until the late 19^th century, birthing was the domain of women and they carried this, as well as other women’s health knowledge, forward.  Natural birth control (often herbs) had to keep secret.  There is lore that women once segregated themselves at the time of menses, and there in seclusion they found comfort from and companionship with other women.

If you did not have language and the words language is made of, what would you think in? If you did not have language, beloveds, as much as language is loved and valued, might you not live fully in the concept called now? Wouldn’t you? What do you think in but words? Yet, of course, there is a dimension of thought before and beyond words. Without language, there would be no names for the pictures you see before your eyes. The pictures would be known and pointed to and yet not remarked on with words.

Healing Negative Emotions

Dealing with your negative emotions is an extremely daunting task. While providing psychological support I often notice that some get washed away in the storm, forget their identity and assume the character of the negative emotion. They hurt themselves or lash out at the world in general. They think that by catharsis they will feel better. However, raw release of negativity ends up causing harm – both to the individual experiencing it and others.

There are others who are so scared of negative emotions that they constantly deny these feelings. They are continuously searching for quick relief through addictions, fake ideologies, money, sexual adventures and flamboyance, and thereby deceive themselves and others into believing that they are happy. In the long run, this defense crumbles and there is a sudden resurgence of the denied emotion.

Among the first documents leaked by onetime government contractor Edward Snowden was a slide listing companies the National Security Agency tapped into to help them conduct their secret PRISM spying program. Not surprisingly, the list is rich with giant tech firms: Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook — and Apple. According to the slide, the NSA broke into Apple’s data in October 2012.
