February 21, 2013 – CHINA - Eight people were injured in an earthquake near the border area of China’s southwestern Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, local authorities said today. The 4.9-magnitude earthquake, which occurred at 10:46 a.m. yesterday with an epicenter 6 km deep, toppled 72 houses and damaged 949 others in Yunnan’s Qiaojia County, the county government said.
