What Happens To Your Brain & Body When You Do What Inspires You

by Thais Gibson, Collective-Evolution

Research shows that when we are living in alignment with what truly inspires us, we are more likely to be productive, fulfilled, driven, intelligent, and creative. In other words, we are most likely to succeed.

And when you really think about it, what is success anyways? Society might define success in terms of money and possessions, but does any of that matter if you aren’t truly fulfilled? True success is something that should instead be associated with the level of fulfillment being experienced by each individual in their personal and professional lives.

Here is some information about what happens to your brain and body when you are pursuing what does or does not inspire you.

Living in Your Values

Behavioral development expert Dr. John DeMartini recently discovered that we all have a unique set of values that plays a major role in governing our behavior and perception of self. He concluded that all of our positive and negative emotions are a feedback system for whether we are living in or out of our values system. Our values are the things that truly matter to us in life.

New Moon In Cancer: A New Step Forward

by Carmen Di Luccio, Collective-Evolution

We are having a New Moon in Cancer on July 4th, 2016 which is the beginning of the 29.5 day Moon cycle. In astrological practice, we view New Moons as a new wave of energy happening as the Sun and Moon meet at the exact same point of the zodiac.

During the last month, we’ve have had some very significant planetary configurations, especially around the Full Moon, which have been helping us to facilitate an important transition. We may have been overwhelmed with everything going on, and potentially have had different aspects of our lives at odds with each other. However it has played out for you, the challenges we have faced are actually serving us well.

After everything that has occurred, this New Moon is happening in a ‘Cardinal’ sign which is associated with initiating. Now and in the coming weeks, it is time to take the next major step in the areas in our lives that have been affected by these planetary aspects and ultimately it is a new step forward in our overall personal growth and evolution.

6 Common Traits Among People Who Live Peaceful Lives That Might Surprise You

by Andrew Martin, Collective-Evolution

1. Let Go Of The Ego And Just Be Yourself

“Take time to be an impartial observer of life particularly when an ending is causing despair.” Lao Tzu

We don’t need to be anything or anyone. We need to impress no one. As a society we have become concerned with having the latest fashions, how we look and impressing others. What for? Who cares? We are trying to fulfil other people’s expectations of us. That doesn’t really make any sense. It just drives us to distraction, always trying to prove ourselves to others. Even when we succeed at creating the right look, social status, image or whatever it is we are trying to achieve, most people don’t notice. So why bother? Our preoccupation with our exterior persona has diverted us from our true self. Once we have let go of our ego state we feel a freedom a freedom that allows us to truly experience life to its fullest without the weight of expectation holding us back.

2. Learn From Masters

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” Albert Einstein

The Role Of Consciousness In The New Global Paradigm

by Adrian D. Nelson, Collective-Evolution

These days a lot of people talk about a ‘new paradigm.’ Today there are paradigm shifts taking place everywhere, from ecology, economics and health, to physics and cosmology. For many, however, when we’re talking about the new paradigm, we’re talking about something bigger: an approaching shift in thinking that, when realized, will constitute a deep collective change in the way we see our place in the universe.

This spring I attended the Architects of the New Paradigm conference in Northern California, where a diverse cast of speakers spoke truth to power on a range of issues, from new energy solutions to the disclosure of government secrets. I think, perhaps, of all these ongoing ‘revolutions’ in our perception, the most profound of these rests with the nature of perception itself.

That is, new theories and evidence arriving from modern research suggest that the heart of our experiencing self — the unique natural phenomenon we have called ‘consciousness,’ is more than an incidental emergence in the human animal; it reflects something fundamental about the way reality is organized.

“The Black Budget.” This Is What The ‘Secret Government’ Doesn’t Want You To Know

by Arjun Walia, Collective-Evolution

Countless amounts of academics, presidents and other politicians have told humanity that a secret government is really pulling the strings when it comes to who holds the balance of power on our planet. Multiple studies have emerged showing that a very small group of people and the corporations they run basically have control over all of the worlds resources. According to the estimates of some, the US government alone classifies up to 500 million pages of documents every single year, for the purpose of protecting ‘national security.’ Our world is drenched in secrecy, and it’s reached a point where we don’t really know what’s happening on our planet. Our main source of information is corporate media, this is a big problem.

Who were these politicians? Senator Daniel K. Inouye,  the highest ranking Asian-American politician in United States history, serving the democratic party from 1963 until his death in 2012, stressed the fact that “there exists a shadowy government with its own Air Force, its own Navy, its own fundraising mechanism and the ability to pursue its own ideas of the national interest, free from all checks and balances, and free from the law itself (source)

13 Effective Ways To Purify & Freshen The Air In Your Home Naturally

by Alanna Ketler, Collective-Evolution

Who doesn’t like a lovely, fresh smelling home? Nothing beats the smell of fresh linen, pine forests, or spring meadows, right? Air fresheners — plug-ins, gels, aerosols, candles, incense — are a staple in many American households, and while they may smell great and evoke feelings of contentment or even nostalgia, they also come with some alarming consequences.

The majority of these products which are designed to ‘freshen the air in our homes’ are, ironically, polluting the air with harmful industrial chemicals.

Most air “fresheners” that are on the market today contain an array of toxic chemicals, most notably including phthalates. Phthalates have been directly linked to cancer and hormone disruption. Not only that, but plug-in type fresheners coat your nasal passages with an oil film called methoxychlor, which will kill the nerves in your nose over time, inhibiting your ability to smell.

The good news is, there are some amazing, all-natural alternatives that can not only keep your home smelling clean and fresh but actually filter the air as well.

Brexit: What We’re Not Being Told About The European Union Referendum

by Robito Chatwin, Collective-Evolution

In the EU referendum about whether or not the UK should remain in the European Union, the UK government warned that leaving the EU could mean 10 years of uncertainty as new trade deals are formed, and even a collapse of the UK  economy with a year of recession.

Meanwhile, the news media and anti-EU politicians concentrated on the topic of immigration, leaving the general public in fear of increasing migrants who will drain the economy and swarm their towns (source).

This same fear mongering happened in Norway when they held a referendum in 1994 (source); yet Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland, as non-EU members within Europe, enjoy some of the highest living standards in the world.

Iceland was also the only country to put bankers in prison instead of bail them out (source) and Norway will ban the sale of all fossil fuel-based cars in the next decade (source).

This 3D Printed, Self-Driving Minibus Is Hitting The Streets In The US (Video)

by Alanna Ketler, Collective-Evolution

Finally, a car that’s actually smarter than you! Well, unless you’re smarter than IBM’s supercomputer Watson, who won Jeopardy about five years ago and is now being put to the streets. Watson has become a key component of Olli, the self driving, fully electric vehicle produced by Arizona based company Local Motors, which specializes in 3D-printed vehicles.

Designed as an on-demand transportation solution, Olli is a 3D-printed minibus that can be requested for a pick-up with a mobile app similar to the increasingly popular Uber. Unlike most taxis, however, these vehicles can be printed to specification in a matter of hours.

In a news release, IBM announced last Thursday that Olli has started operating on roads in National Harbour, D.C., the site of a new local motors facility.

Olli can fit up to 12 people and amazingly, can act just like a regular cab driver, even holding conversations with its passengers thanks to the Watson Internet of Things system. Wondering where to go for dinner? Just ask Olli! Watson software can even help you decide what type of cuisine you’d like.

This new self-driving vehicle was designed with consumers in mind, meant to create “a more pleasant, comfortable, intuitive and interactive experience for riders as they journey in autonomous vehicles,” says IBM.

Study Finds Cats Have An Incredible Ability That Makes Them Even More Mysterious

by Alexa Erickson, Collective-Evolution

Cats are superior creatures. Small in stature but large in ego, their dominance is all about confidence. Their overwhelming neurotic tendencies keep them from falling subject to the ferocious world around them, from cucumbers and puppies to vacuums and curious kids. They jump high, get low, outrun and out-hide the peasants that surround them.

They refuse to become prisoners to their owners, only answering their calls at the sound of food being dropped into their bowl, or for a good pet (on their terms, of course).

Now, there’s something even more mesmerizing about these mysterious, lion-like lovers for us to consider. A team of scientists from Kyoto University explained in the journal Animal Cognition that we have yet to really understand the full scope of cats’ incredible intellect. The researchers discovered that, based on how cats seem to understand that rattling boxes have hidden objects inside them, they may be acutely aware of some of the laws of physics.

Reflection: A Water Story — A Pilgrimage Film About Love, Water, & Culture

by Lawrence Miglialo, Collective-Evolution

Life follows water. Where there is water there is life, and where there is life there is water. The two are inseparable.

This simple realization is imperative to the survival of our species.

As a human species, we have systematically destroyed an innumerable number of natural ecosystems around the world. These are ecosystems that regulate the transfer of oxygen and carbon, maintain the temperature of the planet, and create the conditions for life as we know it. These are like the organs of the body: when treated properly, they support the life of the whole. When treated improperly, other organs begin to compensate and pick up the slack until they exceed their capacity, after which the health of the whole becomes increasingly compromised.
