Man Builds Gorgeous Custom House In 700 Year Old Cave

by Mark DeNicola, Collective-Evolution

By this point we’ve all seen a number of remarkable alternative living structures. Whether it be something as innovative as an earthship, or as minimizing as a tiny home, there are more and more people stepping away from traditional living.

Despite this seeming trend, I doubt you’ve ever seen a space quite like the one built by Angelo Mastropietro, the former head of an Australian recruitment company.

Ten years after taking refuge in a cave during a rainstorm, Angelo decided to buy the 700-year-old natural shelter in Worcestershire, United Kingdom. But rather than simply owning the unusual property, Angelo took on a renovation project unlike any other, breaking, cutting, and burrowing his way to an absolute dream home for any fan of The Lord of the Rings franchise.

After over 1000 hours of work and approximately £160,000, the 38-year-old man has built a dream estate featuring many luxuries, including a rainfall shower, wood fireplace, and heated towel rack.

How Big Pharma Creates Diseases For Its Medications. It’s Big Business!

by Laurie Powell, Collective-Evolution

When pharmaceutical companies create a new drug, they are always looking for compounds that treat specific profitable disorders, especially if they have the potential for blockbuster status. Patent life is 20 years after the drug has been identified as viable in clinical trials – this means that no one else can make or sell the medication during that time.1

For this reason, pharmaceutical companies prep the marketplace for years prior for a successful launch with maximum impact and profit.

By the time a drug launches, doctors are ready to write prescriptions for that drug, and patients are primed to ask their doctors for it. Because it’s a name brand drug, the price is high, and pharma will want to keep that price point by protecting and extending their patent exclusivity as long as possible.

Pharma protects their patents in a number of ways. One option is to negotiate with generic drug manufacturers, asking them not to release their own versions for a set amount of time and money. Another way is to extend a patent by finding a new indication for it, thereby buying it another lifecycle as a brand name drug that sells at full premium price. In order to find this new indication, pharmaceutical companies have to get creative.

Graham Hancock & Humanity’s True Origins

by Tom Bunzel, Collective-Evolution

Graham Hancock is one of the most amazing modern explorers of both the planet’s material mysteries in terms of ruins and monoliths and the internal aspects of consciousness. I learned of his participation in the Contact in the Desert Conference at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center just prior to going to Illuminate, so I decided to drive through the Arizona and California desert for a rare chance to see and meet him.

By the time I got to Joshua Tree, Graham had already presented his main ideas formally, making this a real treat — an informal interactive session with the man who has unearthed so many of history’s treasures and put them into a meaningful and cosmic context.

Graham gave an account of his journey, beginning with his family roots in England and his horrific experiences being conditioned in a private school, then moving on to becoming a journalist with the ability to travel the world.  He had been an atheist until he was cracked open to a new concept of man’s history by encountering stories about the Ark of Covenant in war-torn Somalia.

Are You Spiritual? Here Are 8 Ways You May Be Fooling Yourself

by Elina St-Onge, Collective-Evolution

Who is more aligned with their path of spiritual evolution?

  • A person sitting in a lotus position, taking deep breaths and in perfect composure?
  • Or a person curled up in a ball, crying hysterically?

If we base our answer on everything we have learned from “new age” philosophies and most spiritual teachings out there, I think it’s fair to say that the person meditating wins. He/she appears peaceful, at ease, and detached. Now I’m not about to “shock” you and say that the opposite is true. But I would argue that this image is just that: an image.

This is why:

Full Moon In Sagittarius: A Change Of Seasons

by Carmen Di Luccio, Collective-Evolution

We are having another Sagittarian Full Moon on Monday, June 20th aligned with the Galactic Center. This will be the second one in this sign occurring back to back, as the last Full Moon a month ago was in the beginning of Sagittarius while this one is at the end of it. This is basically an astrological ‘Blue Moon’ instead of a calendar version, although this isn’t something that is recognized and acknowledged. It will occur at 11:02am Universal Time (Click here for your time zone).

This Full Moon is a very significant one for many reasons. Firstly, as mentioned above, it will occur near the Galactic Center. Secondly, this moon cycle started with a New Moon that was part of a Grand Cross in Mutable signs, and this Full Moon will also have a Grand Cross with Mercury as the trigger. Thirdly, this Full Moon will be at the last degree of Mutable sign Sagittarius on the cusp of Cardinal sign Capricorn, and the Sun on the cusp of Gemini/Cancer.

Why I Chose A Happy Life Over A Stable Career (And I’m Not Alone)

by Mark DeNicola, Collective-Evolution

Most people view having a stable career as one of the most necessary ingredients to a happy life, yet so many of us that are fortunate enough to have that stability still find ourselves wanting more.

Is the problem solely that happiness requires more than just job security? Or do we live in a world where traditional full-time work actually contributes to our dissatisfaction?

If given the choice, I doubt that many of us would choose to work 40 hours a week. And those that would choose it are likely to have one thing in common: what they do for work directly engages at least one of their core passions.

But we live in a world where the majority of us need to work to survive. We accrue debt through post-secondary school and then when buying a house, and find ourselves working whatever is available until we one day (hopefully) land something in line with what we studied to do.

Given that the inherent value in a university or college degree seems to be steadily diminishing — all while the cost of attaining it is increasing — it appears as though the career landscape is becoming murkier and murkier.

Is Science Bullsh*t? John Oliver Explains The Corruption Behind Scientific Studies

by Alanna Ketler, Collective-Evolution

Everyday we are flooded with tons of scientific studies. On morning talk shows, social media sites and late night news. If it ever seemed to you that there is a scientific study for absolutely anything, well it’s because there pretty much is.

I don’t know how many times I’ve come across a study that proves one thing and then another that is able to prove the exact opposite. How are we ever expected to find out the truth and differentiate the facts from the bullshit?

In this case, we are not saying science as in the method is necessarily BS, but more so the way the community operates.

Reasons For Misleading Studies

On factor at play here, is the fact that often scientists, straight up. are paid to publish specific studies with specific outcomes based on the vested interests that are funding the studies. Basically, if a company wants a certain result, a scientist will be paid to find that specific outcome by any means necessary -even if the legitimacy and integrity of the study is essentially thrown out the window.

As Brian Nosek, a doctor working for the Center for Open Science, explained the motivations which lead scientists to forward misleading claims:

15 Quotes By Osho That Will Touch Your Heart & Make You Think

by Alexa Erickson, Collective-Evolution

Many of the most influential people our world has seen have exposed truths, wisdoms, and controversial viewpoints that have earned them both respect and fear from the masses. Osho Rajneesh was one of those people.

An Indian mystic, guru, and spiritual teacher, he had millions of followers worldwide, along with thousands of detractors. Confident and outspoken, he shed light on topics often considered taboo by mainstream society.

Born in 1931, Osho grew up questioning the existing religious, cultural, and social norms of society, eventually having a mystical experience that led him to what he calls his enlightenment at the age of 21. He came to prominence as a spiritual guru not just in India, but also internationally. His teachings focus on the necessity for meditation, awareness, love, celebration, courage, creativity, and humor, all of which he believed to be suppressed by traditional belief systems, religious tradition, and socialization. His teachings have greatly impacted the Western New Age movement.

Osho died in 1990, but his work continues to be published by over 200 publishers worldwide and in over 60 languages. With that said, here are 15 incredible quotes by the influential guru:

How To Unlock Deeper & More Connected Sex In 5 Minutes

by Amanda Monteiro, Collective-Evolution

Sex is an act of give and take — giving yourself fully and unapologetically and allowing the same space for your partner. Sex also creates an energetic connection between you and your partner that goes beyond the physical. The more you understand and recognize your own presence, needs and wants, the deeper the experience will be for you and your partner. This can almost be said for any aspect of life.

By having an awareness of your own emotions and connection, you can help your partner to share that awareness, ensuring that the sex you are about to partake in brings you both together.

One of the best ways to recognize your desire is to meditate. There are many positives that are affiliated with giving your mind a time out mentally and physically. Meditation has been known to increase grey matter in the brain and can even help with gastrointestinal disorders, so it’s no wonder that it can play a major role in increasing our libido and even having deeper sexual experiences.

Physicists Discover A Second Layer Of Information Hidden In Our DNA

by Arjun Walia, Collective-Evolution

DNA is fascinating, and we stand to learn so much about who we are, where we came from, and what we are capable of (biologically speaking) from its study. Our capabilities in particular have yet to be studied in-depth by the mainstream scientific community. Yet the study of phenomena like the placebo effect, distant healing, telepathy, and the physical impacts of human intention, not to mention the Mind-Body connection, has yielded statistically significant results which have been available in ‘reputable peer reviewed journals’ for decades.

How does this relate to DNA? Well, there are many codes in our DNA that scientists have yet to crack. Parts of our DNA, for example have no known biological function, or at least we have yet to discover them. Maybe they have spiritual applications, or are connected to the non-physical realm in some way. These seemingly useless DNA are referred to as ‘Junk DNA,’ or ‘non-coding DNA.’ But we are learning more about them each day, as Scientific American reports, so the label isn’t entirely accurate.
