The Theme of Life

There is Nothingness, yet there is no void. There is potential. From a tiny seed, from the empty center of a tiny seed, comes a beautiful flower.

What is the sweet mystery of life? Life itself is a sweet mystery, and the mystery is unending. There is always more. One thing leads to another. First the tree and its branches. Then leaves, then flowers, then fruit, and then the fruit goes to seed, and the Earth is replenished. There are cycles spinning like bicycle wheels.

The theme of life has to be natural growth.

Everything is provided. What is provided is to be seen and recognized. Life offers Fullness. Look at the humble dandelion. How nature has provided its gossamer seeds that the wind blows. How deep dig the roots of the dandelion. The dandelion roots till the soil. How important and integral is every plant on Earth.

When this is the case, imagine the importance of Human Beings. Human Beings have been granted Free Will. A dandelion has no choice. It has to grow. It is all built-in. There is no departure. A dandelion will grow between two bricks or make its own crack in a wall. Instinct nudges plants to grow. Dandelions don’t question. What assurance and constancy a dandelion has. A dandelion is not fussy at all. Its life is determined. A dandelion is one-pointed. It faces the Sun, and that’s it. It drinks the rain, and a dandelion gives forth its reflection of the Sun. Hello, Dandelion.

Sustainable Community Revolutionizes Housing for the Homeless

Austin, Texas is known for many things – beautiful parks, a thriving tech industry, bustling nightlife, several universities, and of course the live music. It is a fairly forward-thinking and green city, in the center of what’s typically known as a conservative state. Austin has been rated as one of the top 10 green cities by the Mother Nature Network and is home to some very green companies, such as Whole Foods.

What you might not know is that there are about 6000 homeless people living on the streets of Austin.

DIY: How To Raise Chickens. It’s Easy!

I’ve had chickens for years and argue that they’re easier to take care of than cats, though like with any animal, pet or livestock, there’s some work that goes into making sure they’re set up and have a safe living arrangement. Chickens are low on the food chain, and some local predators might try to get at them. I actually had a falcon attempt to catch one of mine last week. Thwarted, naturally.

When it comes down to it, a lot of store-bought eggs don’t come from farms like this:

But from farms like this...

The Gods of Money

Richard K. Moore, New Dawn
Waking Times

“Let me issue and control a nation’s money and I care not who writes the laws.” – Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744-1812), founder of the House of Rothschild

Perhaps the single most important thing to know about power in the world today is that most nations do not have control over their own currencies. Instead privately owned, for-profit central banks – such as the Federal Reserve System in the US – create money out of nothing and then loan it at interest to their respective governments. This is an incredibly profitable scam, but that’s not the worst of it.

Not only do the central banks have the power to create money for free, they also have the power to set interest rates, to decide how much credit is issued, and to decide how much money is put into circulation. With this power central banks can – and do – orchestrate boom and bust cycles, enabling the super-wealthy owners of the banks to profit from investments during the booms, and buy up assets at bargain prices during the busts. And that still isn’t the whole story.

Schools Kill Creativity And Critical Thinking In Children

This is one of the more interesting TED Talks out there. Sir Ken Robinson shares uplifting ideas and stories that support his movement for a drastic change in educational methodology for all children. He notes that intelligence is a diverse thing, and that people aren’t all the same. So a one-size-fits-all approach to education is one that fails many students.

A WARRIOR CAME TO THE ZEN MASTER HAKUIN AND ASKED "IS THERE SUCH A THING AS HEAVEN AND HELL?"

HAKUIN SAID "WHO ARE YOU?"

THE WARRIOR REPLIED "I AM CHIEF SAMURAI TO THE EMPEROR."

HAKUIN SAID "YOU, A SAMURAI? WITH A FACE LIKE THAT, YOU LOOK MORE LIKE A BEGGAR."

AT THIS THE WARRIOR BECAME SO ANGRY HE DREW HIS SWORD.

STANDING CALMLY IN FRONT OF HIM, HAKUIN SAID "HERE OPEN THE GATES OF HELL."

PERCEIVING THE MASTER'S COMPOSURE, THE SOLDIER SHEATHED HIS SWORD AND BOWED.

HAKUIN THEN SAID "AND HERE OPEN THE GATES OF HEAVEN."

Triple Water Astrology - The Critical Degree! Weekly Horoscope - Week Starting Friday, November 21, 2014

Please like my page at www.facebook.com/triplewaterastrology!

A most fascinating astronomical, and astrological, occurrence occurs at the beginning of the week. Sun is at 29 Scorpio on Friday - interesting in and of itself, for example JFK was assassinated in 1963 when Sun was at 29 Scorpio. A very intense, edgy energy for the Sun, opposite Alcyone (fixed star). The next day, Saturday, at about 7:30am EST, Sun and Moon perfectly conjunct at 0 Sagittarius. However, both will be on the cusp of Scorpio and Sagittarius! Part of the disks of each luminary will be in each sign. What a fascinating moment for a person to be born. What mundane events might occur on Saturday? Hopefully nothing unfortunate. However, Jupiter and Pluto will be influential on that day, so setting an intention to use the energies productively can help you make the most of such an unusual occurrence.

What else might the week bring for you from the heavens? Consider both your Sun sign and ascendant.

Aries

This week starts out as quick, on the go, and thoughtful. November 24 can be an especially good day for you in terms of happiness and optimism. The boost of power from last week is waning a bit...now restrictions and authority are a bit more pronounced. November 25 and 26 have the potential to be emotional days. Despite possible roadblocks this week, you still have a lot of energy and drive available to make the most of your goals and projects, especially at work. Just for Aries: look out for unexpected consequences!

No Such Thing as a Higher Self

will's picture

For the sake of understanding, I often use the term "Higher Self" since it's a concept people already know.  It's our True Self, who we are when we're completely unfettered by judgments, fears and ego. It's our connection to Source, total Freedom and boundless Joy. So why would I say there's no such things as a Higher Self?

Well the problem comes from the word "higher", it creates the idea that our real self is someplace above us. It creates this higher self/lower self duality and puts a gap between the two. If you say, "I want to get in touch with my Higher Self", who is the "I", the self that's saying that? Unconsciously, you're declaring that you are your lower self, otherwise known as the ego.

Now I'm not saying everyone who uses the term Higher Self is wrong, please don't take what I'm writing that way. Part of the problem with using a dualistic language is that it's very challenging (actually impossible) to properly describe Reality. I likely will continue to use the term Higher Self, but it's important to understand the subtle illusions contained within that concept.

The "Higher Self" is the real you, not higher, not someplace outside, but deep Within. This is why it's so important to peel back all the layers of the ego. It's our self-judgments, all of our limiting thoughts, trying to live up to other's standards, and our lack of self-Love that prevents our True Self from shining through. I guarantee the authentic you is beautiful, our beauty is in our uniqueness, it's the conformity of the ego and the self-loathing that comes along with it, that creates ugliness.

Tears Are Healing: This Is The Reason Why.

Everyone has shed tears at one point in their lives, especially as a child. As children, we have neither the experience, nor the knowledge to interpret most situations we go through. Generally, tears are associated with a bad experience; therefore it is not surprising that we avoid crying, as tears as a norm always come after a negative experience. Crying is not part of the negative experience, but the beginning of the healing process. This, of course, does not apply to tears of laughter.

Crying is the body's natural resource to cope and eliminate the bad energies that we absorb from negative or stressful experiences. Everyone who remembers crying, must also remember the feeling of relief that comes after. As the general understanding is that crying is a sign of weakness or the admission that we cannot cope with the situation, most people try and avoid it at all cost, especially in public. Popular mythology says that boys don't cry and women are too emotional. Yet, one of the most powerful tools for healing we have as humans is crying. Avoiding it only makes us weaker. Not only it perpetuates the trauma, but it makes it stronger, deeper.

Joe Rogan: Cannabis Takes Away Your Motivation To Do Things That Suck

This video was a lot of fun to watch. In it, Joe Rogan talks with Eddie Bravo about the common misconceptions people have about cannabis.

Back in Boston, the real problem was I hung out with a bunch of fuckin’ idiots. The people that I knew that smoked pot were idiots and pot wasn’t helping them. If you got a little low watt brain and you super charge it with fuckin’ jet fuel, you still got a low watt brain. So I associated pot with stupid people but then I meet this genius (Eddie Bravo) and he smokes pot all the time. I’m an open-minded person, and I’m willing to drop all preconceived notions that I have and go “Ok, I’ll try it”. I remember very clearly the day I got high with him. I remember that day going , “Fuuucck!!!” It was like I shot through a cannon and all of a sudden I was on the other side. He was like “Dude, glad to have you over here”. And I’m like “Glad to be over here. I can’t believe I was over there!” Shit, we had ice cream sundaes, I couldn’t believe how good it taste! Millions of new thoughts were just flooding my brain, it was like I was ripping down walls and shit was just flowing in.

Do We Need A Degree To Be Educated?

Mortar Board Higher Education
Mike Sygula, Contributor
Waking Times

I recently saw a comment under a controversial video discussing , an archaeological site. The presenter is a well-known author and former musician but doesn’t have an academic background in archeology. Here is the comment:

“This guy isn’t an archaeologist. This is bullshit. Look him up on Google. He’s a fucking musician who just has a thing for African culture which is great and all that but it DOES NOT MAKE HIM A GEOLOGIST OR A SCIENTIST!”

We are often judged by our formal education diplomas.

However, it is worth asking ourselves these questions :

Does the fact that someone has no academic degree in a particular field mean that this person is not capable of being an expert on that topic?

How to Stop Spiraling & Start Solving Your Problems

Hello, my name is Amita and I am a worrier. A compound worrier to be exact. The kind of worrier who spirals and over thinks myself into a fat, messy, what-the-fuck-am-I-doing-with-my-life type haze. I worry about small things, I worry about big things, but mostly I worry about things that are beyond my control. This catastrophic thinking is my brain’s way of ensuring that nothing takes me by surprise. While this may have been an advantage back in the day when we were running from saber-tooth tigers, nowadays worrying creates more problems than it actually solves.

When people say “don’t worry,” I want to smack them across their smug little faces. How about being a bit more helpful? Instead of telling me what not to do, why not give me a solution, or, at the very least, an alternative coping mechanism that doesn’t involve eating Trader Joe’s brand chocolate and watching Netflix.

There are plenty of techniques to minimize worrying, but the heart of the problem is that we have problems we need to solve. And while I meditate and wait to receive guidance, I also get out my notebook and tackle things head on. So let’s get to problem solving, shall we?

Prescription drug vending machines now being installed on college campuses across America

(NaturalNews) The total insanity of over-medication in America has reached a new low as Arizona State University has installed a prescription drug vending machine called InstyMeds.

American college students -- who are already the most over-medicated population on the planet -- now have an even easier way to pollute their brains with SSRI drugs, antidepressants, antipsychotics and prescription "speed" amphetamines which are routinely abused by students for final exam cram study sessions.

"School officials didn't specify exactly what kind of drugs will be available in the machine, but said it would contain 50 medications that are most commonly prescribed to college students," reports CBS News.
