A Brief History Of FAILED End Time Predictions

by Gregg Prescott, M.S.
Editor, In5D.com

With the religious zealots making end times predictions for September 23rd, 2017, I thought this would be a good time to repost this article.  I can promise you that on September 24th, their claim will be added to the list…

What can we expect the day after the ‘end of the world’? According to wiki, there have been 183 end of the world predictions that have failed.  Many of these were prophesied by religious zealots through fear propaganda.

Here are just a few of them:

In 1284, Pope Innocent III (d. 1216) predicted that the world would end 666 years after the rise of Islam. (do you see how long the divide and conquer principle has been going on?)

In 1658, Christopher Columbus claimed that the world was created in 5343 BCE, and would last 7000 years. Assuming no year zero, that means the end would come in 1658.

Mathematician Jacob Bernoulli predicted a comet would destroy the earth on April 5, 1719.

The newly formed Seventh Day Adventists, a group founded by former Millerites, predicted the Second Coming would be in 1874.

Entire Media Agrees Not To Call Planned Parenthood Shooter A Christian Terrorist

NEW YORK, NY – Every news organization in the world agreed Saturday never to describe the shooter who attacked a Planned Parenthood in Colorado a ‘Christian terrorist,’ even though that’s exactly what he is.

“Well, he's an angry Christian conservative white man,” said CNN news chief Wolf Blitzer. “So we prefer to refer to him as being mentally ill.”

Some suggested that this decision was motivated by ratings.

“We obviously can't call him a Christian extremist or a Christian terrorist,” said Fox News host Bill O'Reilly. “Most of our audience is Christian and would be offended. Besides, we would never report that anyway, because it's something that’s true.”

MSNBC's Chris Matthews agreed that telling the truth would hurt ratings.

If Every Reporter Was This Honest, More People Would Watch The News

***Caution: Passionate language not suitable for the easily upset***

Flip on your local news station in the morning, and you’re likely to be bombarded with all the negative happenings of the world. Regardless of the fact that plenty of positive events are taking place, too, mainstream media tends only to relay the gripping stories which inspire fear and anger in the public, as the music and news industry is predominantly controlled by corporations with their own agenda(s).

One ‘news reporter’, however, (who is actually a British YouTube star who is very good at acting like a pissed off television journalist) finally became furious enough to relay the news as it is.

DEA warns of stoned rabbits if Utah passes medical marijuana

Utah is considering a bill that would allow patients with certain debilitating conditions to be treated with edible forms of marijuana. If the bill passes, the state's wildlife may "cultivate a taste" for the plant, lose their fear of humans, and basically be high all the time. That's according to testimony presented to a Utah Senate panel (time stamp 58:00) last week by an agent of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

"I deal in facts. I deal in science," said special agent Matt Fairbanks, who's been working in the state for a decade. He is member of the "marijuana eradication" team in Utah. Some of his colleagues in Georgia recently achieved notoriety by raiding a retiree's garden and seizing a number of okra plants.

The 11 Commandments Of The New-Age-Ego (In A Nutshell)

The ego, as you know, is clever, very clever. It can utilize everything for its own protection and perpetuation – including spirituality. With the very tools created for its dissolution, it can etch out a new version of itself. And since the old big-bad-ego has got more bad press than Kim Jong-un, it has been reinventing itself across the world in a new avatar: the new-age-ego. Since it is even more deceptive in this crystal-addicted, incense-sniffing guise, GD and me had a sit down to identify this new-age-ego in all its new-age glory. At the end of our hilarious session, we identified its eleven most important commandments, which are active below the surface at all times.

THOU SHALT NOT REST
Speed is one of the most under-appreciated tricks of the new-age-ego. Busyness, anxiety, rushing are all hallmarks of a superlative ego at work. Of course, the new-age-ego chases new-age goals, which are indisputably noble. Between perfecting your downward dog and saving gay humpback whales, the ego ensures you don’t keep any time for yourself.
Even when you are on the potty, the ego won’t let you rest – it will insist you reply to at least three emails, read two pages of Eckhart Tolle and retweet Rumi on Twitter. After all, you have to ‘live up to your full potential’.
