The Illusion Of Separation: 5 Things Every Human Being Has In Common - TruthTheory

By Luke Miller Truth Theory

Many cultures across the globe look at humanity as a singular unit, meaning if I feel pain it is just a reflection of the collective pain we are all experiencing, if I succeed, we are all succeeding and vice versa. This is a different narrative from that which is currently perpetuated in the competitive society that is advertised daily in the media, and encouraged by the social constructs that underpin western society.

The truth is we are all the same. Genetically we are made up of the same stuff, we all bleed the same, feel the same emotions (just at different degrees) and we are all individual cells in an organism in which if we do not work together, the organism is slowly destroyed. This is apparent from the current state of the environment, the turbulent relations between many countries and the inequality that has rapidly widened in recent times.

We are all the same, and I don’t say this as a wishy washy hippy- thinking we should all just join hands singing all you need is love and all the problems in the world will vanish. It is just stating the obvious, and in this article I am going to share 5 things that we all share common ground on:

We Are All Human

How The Financial System Is Being Used To Disempower Us - TruthTheory

By Luke Miller Truth Theory

A way in which we can conceptualise the banking system is by imagining 100 people all being given $100 and as a result of this they are expected to pay back $110 at the end of the month. The only way in which you can earn extra money is by earning it from someone else in this group of 100. So there is $10000 in circulation, but $11000 needs to be paid back. In the best of situations this would mean 10 people would end up with nothing and go bankrupt, and the other 90 would be able to continue the cycle. But in our current system it does not work in this way as there is such inequality. It is more like 10 people have $5000 each and the 90 get $55.55 each, but still need the $110 at the end of the month. So as a result they have to borrow the extra $54.45 from one of the 10 with $5000 to keep on going, but for this to happen they will need to pay more interest and the never ending cycle continues.

Lion Poachers Caught After Plans To Poison Big Cats Were Revealed - TruthTheory

By Jess Murray Truth Theory

Following weeks of wildlife crisis throughout Africa, two suspected lion poachers were caught and arrested earlier this week at Letaba River Lodge in South Africa. According to Andre Coppen of Canine Security, who are the group that are responsible for the arrests, information was received about a planned poaching scheduled for upcoming evening. The anti-poaching group deployed a team in the lion encampment where the poachers were due to arrive earlier in the evening, and stayed to wait for the poachers after the lions had been moved to a safe enclosure.

At around eight in the evening, two suspects cut a hole in the boundary fence which allowed them access into the lodge property. As they headed towards the lion enclosure the team lying in wait pounced on them and they were apprehended. From searching the poachers’ bags, reports were able to determine that the pair had planned to poison the lions with chickens that had been laced with an unknown toxin. As well as poisoned chickens, knives, garden shears and other implements commonly used by lion poachers were also found.

New Testing Has Found Potentially Harmful Levels Of Pesticides In US Honey - TruthTheory

By Jess Murray Truth Theory

A study has found evidence of a pesticide that is linked to cancer within samples of honey.

After facing public pressure to test samples of US food for presence of the pesticide, the Food and Drug Administration found new evidence of residues from the weed killer glyphosate within honey. All of the samples that the FDA recently tested contained glyphosate residues, and some of the honey showed levels that were double the limit that is allowed in the European Union, according to documents obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request. There is currently no legal tolerance level for glyphosate in honey in the United States.

Marijuana Has Been Named “The Super Antibiotic” Of The Future - TruthTheory

By Jess Murray Truth Theory

Marijuana has the potential to stop MRSA, according to studies. Dr. Keiji Fukuda, the Assistant Director General for the World Health Organization’s Health Security department, has explained that antibiotic resistant bacteria are now one of the top health concerns in the world, as “common infections and minor injuries, which have been treatable for decades, can once again kill”. Ikea’s Hydroponic System Allows You To Grow Vegetables All Year Round Without A Garden - TruthTheory

By Jess Murray Truth Theory

Ikea’s indoor garden system is the perfect option for those who wish to grow their own food all year round but don’t have the garden space to be able to do it.  Ikea’s indoor hydroponic garden allows anyone to grow fresh produce at home without the need for soil or any previous gardening experience.

The hydroponic system of the garden means that adequate light and water are everything that is needed to grow the plants successfully, meaning that there is no need for soil. According to the report, many of the vegetables that are widely available today are grown using this method. The absorbent foam plugs that come with the Ikea system enable the seeds to sprout, and then proceed to keep the seeds moist without over-watering them. Following the germination of the seeds, all that needs to be done is to transfer the entire foam plug into its own separate small pot and fill it with pumice stones, which can retain a lot of water.

Farmer Makes His Own Diesel Using Plastic Waste - TruthTheory

By Jess Murray Truth Theory

A farmer in South Africa has utilised old plastic by turning it into cheap diesel. Meinhard Peters, a beef and dairy farmer from Gauteng, works at a farm with his father, Freddie, and is also a qualified fitter. He has recently begun combining his skills and devised a way to combat the high cost of fuel that is necessary for him to run the farm efficiently. He said, “I know plastic is made from petroleum, therefore it must be possible to extract petroleum from plastic.”

The intensive farm that the father and son operate is around 200 hectares in size, and is currently breeding a new breed of dairy cow which allows them to additionally produce yoghurt. Meinhard found that he was constantly left with old bits of plastic, including decommissioned irrigation pipes, shopping bags, containers that agricultural products were purchased in, bailing string and fertiliser bags, all of which he had no further use for on the farm.
