6.4 magnitude earthquake strikes Mid-Atlantic Ridge along planet’s equator

EQUATOR – There is no widespread tsunami threat after a 6.4 earthquake reported at 12:04 p.m. on Mon. June 24, 2013 in the Northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. The agency issued the notification saying the determination was based on historical earthquake and tsunami data.
