The security situation has deteriorated in many areas of the Darfur province, while the pace of killings and reprisals is threatening to spiral out of control. A UN official told Al-Hayat yesterday [August 6] that Khartoum has witnessed extensive violence over the past few weeks, resulting in dozens of civilian deaths. He added that “the increasing rate of violence is a growing concern,” given that 20 civilians are killed every day in various parts of Darfur. This is the same rate that was witnessed at the height of confrontations between government troops and rebels in Darfur in 2004.

Swiss bankers whose names were delivered to the United States in April as part of the crackdown on US tax evaders face the risk of arrest while travelling in some European countries, not just on US soil.
Extradition treaties between the US and countries including France, Germany, Italy, Austria and Britain make it possible for the US to take legal steps via Interpol against bankers suspected of helping US citizens evade taxes, Denise Chervet, central secretary of the Swiss Bank Employees Association told the Swiss News Agency.

SINGAPORE: Christians here in Singapore are livid over reports that the mega-church City Harvest Church, currently facing charges of corruption and misuse of funds, is now asking worshipers to donate money in order to assist founder and Executive Director Kong Hee in his court battle.
“They are charged with misusing their own worshipers money and now they are asking for them to give more, which they probably wasted on personal projects? As part of the demonstration, I asked her to focus on an area of her body that felt uncomfortable, the idea being that emotions often seem to reside in certain areas of the body.
She said that her kidneys were sore and painful. Rose then volunteered the information that she had just gotten out of the hospital where she had been treated for kidney failure. It was a very scary ordeal for her, as you can well imagine. She was now on dialysis and her name was on the waiting list for a kidney transplant.
I coached her how to move her awareness into her kidneys, and to make sounds on the exhale. I told her to imagine that the sounds were actually coming from her kidneys and to listen to her own sounds as she relaxed deeper into the exhales.

American nuns are gathering in St. Louis, Mo., this week for their organization's yearly national assembly, where they are expected to discuss the future of their relationship with the Vatican following scathing criticism of the nuns' alleged lack of fidelity to Catholic teachings.
This spring, after a three-year investigation, the Vatican's doctrinal watchdog issued a report questioning the organization's loyalty to some Church teachings, including the nuns' lack of outspokenness on issues such as gay marriage, abortion and contraception. Another concern voiced by the Vatican relates to conferences organized by the nuns featuring "a prevalence of certain radical feminist themes incompatible with the Catholic faith."

Islamists in northern Mali reportedly changed their plans to cut off the hand of a suspected thief after they were confronted by people protesting such punishment, but a radio reporter covering the incident was badly beaten.
People in Gao took to the streets Sunday to protest the harsh punishment planned for the suspect by the Islamist group in power there, the Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa, according to news reports.

If you think the mass shootings are random, think again. These heinous outbursts are designed to provide a platform to disarm this country. If we have guns we can defend ourselves, if we don’t have guns we are helpless. I am not going to go into this in depth, I merely say it to show you an example of the madness and as always, nothing is ever as it seems. What you are told is not the way it really is, it is twisted facts to fit an agenda. Sad but true but if you are awake you will begin to quickly spot these distortions as they occur.
It is so important to create our own world now that allows us to live, love and laugh. The other world crumbling around you is nothing but illusion, it is not the way the world really is. Make a conscious effort to look for what is right in the world everyday. There are many positive things taking place but are not receiving any media coverage. They are happening and we need to keep them in our thoughts everyday. Little was mentioned about the departure of Cass Sunstein from the Obama administration. Cass who you ask? Precisely! Cass Sunstein was Obama’s master mind of evil. His departure is a breath of fresh air for everyone. Good things are happening if you make the effort to look for them.
It is important to know about and look for the good things. Seeing the alternative, positive things that are occurring help to keep our hope alive during such depressing times. We can only be pulled down into the disturbing world of the dark ones if we allow ourselves to be. But we are human and reacting to a constant barrage of evil can get us down and create imbalance. We must fight against this by staying above the evil, by concentrating on what is right and good in the world and not giving in to the pressure. It is wise to keep company with positive people, to laugh and live a happy life and stay on the bright side. Trying to live this way around negative people is next to impossible. Make life easier for yourself.
