Crescent Moon Phase – Moon in Aries – Ruling Mahavidya: Matangi
Yesterday the Sun produced seven M-class solar flares and three coronal mass ejections (CMEs). The Sun is a divine being. When it releases a flare, it is a conscious action. Flares enhance the intensity or strength of whatever frequency of energy is in place for the day. Yesterday’s energy provided a unique opportunity for clarity and strength to face obstacles. Yesterday’s energy was empowering, to say the least.
But, during the duration and in the immediate aftermath of seven M-class flares and three CMEs, the side-effects can be harsh. Solar activity perturbs energetic “fields” of all kinds. Aches can occur, particularly headaches, earaches, stomachaches, and backaches. Issues with interpersonal communications can also arise. We need to take special care of ourselves and take care in how we related with others.
The sunspot responsible for the flares, number 1967, is growing. Forecasters estimate a 50% chance of X-flares today. Sunspot 1967 is also directly facing Earth. Time after time, the Sun refrains from releasing flares strong enough to do massive damage on Earth. At all times, the Sun maintains a specific energetic conditions to ensure not only that we don’t get fried, but also to ensure that we bloom in a hospitable environment. All of this is conscious and it speaks to the inherent foundation of support for humanity.
Supports, grounding, and stability is what the Sun conspires to bring us this month. We know this because the Sabian symbol for the degree of the New Moon in Aquarius (which could just as easily be called the New Sun in Aquarius, because the new cycle begins when the Sun AND Moon conjunct) is “people on a vast staircase graduated upward.” This tells us that we are in on our place, our own spot, and supported by the weight of a staircase vast enough to reach the heavens. In other words, this month our feet are on the ground while our minds reach heights. Wise owls know that this is the position of power.
This month we are all re-evaluating and revising our position (our stance) on all kinds of things. This month’s ruling Mahavidya, Matangi, facilitates the process. She is an easy companion, but don’t mistake her sturdiness and hardiness. Matangi teaches us how to take care of details, especially the details of things that are not pleasant. She helps us have courage to deal with things we have not wanted to see. Nothing is too ugly, dirty, or shameful for her.
Today’s energy bring strong cravings for happiness. If we are far from happy, we see what we need to revise or change in order to get happy. If we have been “on the fence” or unsure about something, the message we need is there today if we are willing to admit it. Things that have boxed us in, impinged on who we really are, and tried to control us are easily visible. So, though the energy leans us toward happiness, sometimes this is demonstrated through unhappiness. Choices involve risk and feelings of separation, but the prevailing energies are supporting all of this. Take steps now to make any changes you know you need to make. It’s better to do it for ourselves now than wait for Uranus to do it for us in April. Uranus acts swiftly and decisively, causing our heads to spin.
Remember that we are getting stronger and stronger and are rooted more and more firmly with the planet. Give thanks to the Sun for all of the strength and support it is delivering. Take your place on the vast staircase of humanity.
