Winter Storm Cleon: State-by-State Impacts

Packing a potentially deadly ice threat that could stretch 1,000 miles from Texas to Ohio, Winter Storm Cleon geared up Thursday to provide another shot of dangerous weather to the Plains and Midwest. "For those who use electric heat, they could be without power for several days, especially in places that are difficult to reach," said Tom Niziol, winter weather expert for The Weather Channel. "This will mean the potential for water pipes freezing and more importantly endangers people who will not be able to stay warm. Plan and prepare to hunker down." Bitterly cold temperatures prompted safety warnings for residents in the Rockies and threatened crops as far south and west as California.
