New reports detailing widespread corruption and money laundering in the Vatican are coming out again, this time linking the Vatican with Sicilian mafia bosses, the Telegraph reports.
Sicilian mafia Godfather Matteo Messina Denaro and Father Ninni Treppiedi are the two names being mentioned in this episode.
Treppiedi, formerly the cleric of Aclamo, the richest parish in mafia safe haven Sicily, was relieved of his duties earlier this year when his bank's transactions attracted the attention of anti-mafia investigators. The transactions, which date back to 2007-2009, are said to involve millions of euros, according to RT.

Earlier this year, researchers at the university of Southern California published the results of a study examining whether the wealthy – the mythical “engines of our economy” – display a better character than the rest of us.
As it turned out, after conducting seven experiments they found that the narrow pursuit of self-interest at the top of the economic heap leads our elites to behave like complete dirtbags. As Bloomberg summarized, the researchers found that the richest among us “were more likely to break the law while driving, take candy from children, lie in negotiation, cheat to raise their odds of winning a prize and endorse unethical behavior at work.”

Bashar Al-Assad is not in containment but is in a milder form that involves not a box of light but a veil of light. AAM said there were many shades and varieties of containment.

We all have so many questions that we just cannot know the answers to until the experience arrives. We go through our days wondering if this is the one where everybody will finally know that we’ve been telling the truth all along. One would think we’d be used to not knowing by now, but we don’t seem to be there yet.
Frankly my time in stillness and meditation every day is what keeps me feeling peaceful and calm about the chaos all around us right now. I really can’t even imagine what life would be like if I didn’t feel my connection with Spirit, and to an ever growing degree with All That Is. In my view, that is the relationship most worth developing right now.

LONDON — British police investigating corrupt links between police and reporters said they arrested two journalists for questioning Wednesday.
The men, who are 34 and 37, were detained at their homes in an early-morning raid, police said.
Both were questioned on suspicion of conspiracy to corrupt and of a conspiracy to cause misconduct in a public office, police said. The men were later released on bail to return for further questioning in October.
The arrests are related to suspected payments made to a specific public official.

Security teams on the oiler Rappahannock fired on the “small motor vessel after it disregarded warning and rapidly approached” the ship, 5th Fleet spokesman Lt. Greg Raelson said. The crew tried to wave off the approaching boat, employing a “series of non-lethal, preplanned responses” before firing the .50-caliber machine gun.

Welcome to the Turning Point. Contrary to what you might expect me to say on a day with today's astrolgical aspects (go inside your tree and weather the energy), wise old owls will take flight today. Instead of grounding or sheltering in place, today we will fly from situation to situation as the need develops. We've spend the last week opening up a space for the influx of energy that will recalibrate our personal frequencies toward a closer spiritual connection with the planet. The grounding has already taken place. Now, when something we are around becomes mired in aggression or discomfort, we are going to mentally move on from it. Our consciousness remains firmly connected but we will simply remove ourselves from situations that are not to our liking.
Today opens the three-day period where things are going to turn or shift like a hinge. People will tend to be erratic, unpredictable, and volatile. Aggression will surface in places. Some will come unhinged. Things will come seemingly out of the blue, so we need to be prepared to respond by taking ourselves to a different mental space - one that is slower and surer. This energy is fast. Impulsivity is heightened. Be very aware of your surroundings and take special care when you are driving or working around anything that could injure you. This energy causes accidents. If you are in a city, you'll notice an increased number of emergency vehicles' sirens. This has already been building and you may have noticed it.

The FINANCIAL -- As Spain struggles with wage and budget cuts as part of sweeping austerity measures, Spaniards exasperated at seeing no end in sight are increasingly taking their grievances to the streets.
Thousands of people came out into the streets of central Madrid on Sunday, just 48 hours after their last protest, sparked by the approval of Spain's latest austerity plan on Friday.
Sunday's late-night protest was spontaneous, sparked by calls on social networking sites, said 21-year-old fireman Miguel Rodriguez. It brought together professionals such as firemen and police along with civil servants who all opposed the government's plan.
Spaniards say they just despair of what is next.

For the majority of yesterday my poor brain felt like there was a jet ski zooming around inside and all I could do is gurgle on the wake left behind its motion. Five years after he started “crime suppression” sweeps that terrorized Latino neighborhoods across Maricopa County, Arizona, Sheriff Joe Arpaio is finally having to explain himself. Not to TV crews in Phoenix or to fawning hosts on Fox News, but before a federal judge.
The trial in Melendres v. Arpaio, a class-action civil-rights lawsuit, is scheduled to begin Thursday in Federal District Court in Phoenix. The plaintiffs, represented by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, accuse the sheriff of waging an all-out, unlawful campaign of discrimination and harassment against Latinos and those who look like them.
They say the sheriff and his deputies — aided by ad hoc civilian “posses,” anonymous phone tipsters, even motorcycle gangs — made illegal stops, searches and arrests, staged wrongful neighborhood and workplace raids, and provoked widespread fear among citizens, legal residents and undocumented immigrants alike.

(NaturalNews) Radio personality Dr. Drew Pinsky once touted GlaxoSmithKline PLC's antidepressant Wellbutrin as one of a few such medications he prescribed to patients suffering from depression because it "may enhance or at least not suppress sexual arousal" as much as other antidepressants.
What he didn't tell listeners during that 1999 endorsement; however, was that two months earlier Dr. Pinsky - who rose to fame as "Dr. Drew," co-hosting a popular radio sex-advice show, "Loveline" - received the second of two payments from GSK for a total of $275,000 for "services for Wellbutrin," The Wall Street Journal reported.
The paper said the payments were made to Pinsky via a communications firm that worked for GSK, according to revelations in an attachment to a complaint filed by the U.S. government in October 2011 in a Massachusetts federal court. The documents were disclosed in early July after the Justice Department announced a $3 billion criminal and civil settlement with GSK over illegal medication marketing, among other things.
In an email response to an inquiry about the payments by the Journal, Pinsky said: "In the late '90s I was hired to participate in a two-year initiative discussing intimacy and depression which was funded by an educational grant by Glaxo Wellcome," one of the pharmaceutical firms that eventually merged into GlaxoSmithKline.
Pinsky added that the campaign he was involved with "included town hall meetings, writings and multimedia activities in conjunction with [a] patient advocacy group."

Families of four veterans diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder following their tours of duty in combat zones who committed suicide after returning home are charging Prudential Insurance and the Department of Veterans Affairs with refusing to pay life insurance benefits they are due.
Mathew Ecker, the lead plaintiff in the case, which was filed recently in U.S. district court in Newark, N.J., said that his son, Michael - who served in Iraq in 2005-06 - received "at least 11 medals, ribbons and badges for his service."
The complaint goes onto say that following his son's return, "his parents observed a dramatic change in his personality. He was in constant physical pain, suffered memory losses, and was anxious all the time. Michael never left the war behind and after medical treatment efforts failed him, on August 28, 2009, he walked to the garden, saluted his father in military fashion, placed a gun to his head and pulled the trigger."
The complaint says the elder Ecker was the sole beneficiary of his son's SGLI (Servicemembers Group Life Insurance) policy, which amounted to $400,000.
"Mathew has testified under oath that, while alive, Michael never received from Prudential any notice that he could convert his SGLI policy to a VGLI [Veterans Group Life Insurance] policy," the complaint says.
