How are we all feeling? Are you still feeling a little bit magical from yesterday? I don't know about you, but I could certainly feel the electricity in the air. To quote a favorite movie of mine "It's all happening."

 

I'd like to talk a little bit about how I choose the card for the day. I go through my normal routine of shuffling and cutting the cards. Then, I flip over eight cards. The eighth card is the reading for the day. Then, I go back through the "kitty", the other seven cards I flipped, and see if there are any opposing or reinforcing cards for the day.

A Great Disturbance in the Force

There’s a line from a Star Wars movie that *almost* encapsulated how I felt last night. It was a strange night.

“I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.”

For the past few days I’ve been feeling rather strange. My heart has been beating like a bass drum. It was a strained, fiery type of beating but I never felt like I was in any danger. This same thing happened to me last summer and I was much less accustomed to it. There were some nights I was certain I was having a heart attack. I’m a little more enlightened now, and believe that these are the effects of solar flares.

Weekly Tarot Reading ~ April 1 - April 7

This week, I got some guidance toward the colors of the energies that we’ll be immersed in this coming week. This is the first time that this has happened and I’m still trying to integrate it into the readings, so if you have any questions just let me know.

Some days have a rather short reading, but I get the feeling that a lot of this week’s energy has to do with the decisions we make on a daily basis. Nothing is “set in stone” so to speak until we actually take the first steps on the path we choose to make. Make a conscious effort to set aside time each day to be still and get in touch with your heart center. The information and knowing that comes through this center is very valuable at this moment.

Along those lines, energy is fluid, so the specific influences of the cards may be felt prior to and in the days after the card is pulled for. This is especially true for Major Arcana cards, signified by a capital M in parenthesis. Reversed cards are signified with an R in parentheses. If a card is reversed, it means that its energy has not fully manifested yet. This week, we seem to be building to a crescendo of energies which arrive on Saturday.

The theme for this week seems to be balance.

Weekly Tarot Reading ~ March 25 - 31

It was interesting that this week all cards were in the reversed position. I have never had that before. I got the sense that this mean these energies would be difficult for many to sense, so it’s important not to forget that they are there for you to utilize. Keep in mind too, that energy is static so some energies may carry over from day to day. This is especially true with Friday’s energy of the World. This energy will stay with us for a while.

It was also interesting that each suit came in pairs. That is, it was 2 days in a row of the same suit. This seemed to indicate that the first day we’d be integrating the energies of the suit, and then the next day we would be mastering the energies. Things certainly are moving quickly.

Working through Fear

I have been sick for almost a week. Today is the first day that I am feeling good. I feel a million times better than I have in a week, but I still only feel about 60% healthy. I missed a lot of work and I have to be okay with that. I can't change it now, and I hope to be out of this job before the middle of the year anyhow. I just have to be patient.

I was supposed to go to the doctor yesterday. I did not. I don't like doctors and they probably would have just given me a prescription for anti-biotics that I'm not sure if I would have been able to take, due to my beliefs. I am glad that I didn't go.As I thought, this wasn't a "physical" illness at all. It was a metaphysical one.

I would imagine it all started with my last meeting with my boss. One of the last questions she asked me was if I liked what I was doing. Of course, the first thing that popped into my head was "NOO!!!!". I wasn't brave enough to say that, though. I said yes, and immediately looked at the floor.

I have always had problems with my throat. I had a cyst when I was in high school that I had to have surgery to get it removed. For as long as I can remember, I would get terrible sore throats 2 - 3 times a year. Always, I'd go to the doctor. They'd tell me "that's about the worst sore throat I've seen in a while." Always, the strep and mono tests would come back negative. I'd be given a prescription for anti-biotics and be on my way. Never was it, what could be causing this. Why are you getting these sore throats so frequently. Now I know, of course, that I have problems expressing myself and speaking my truth.

Keep in mind that energy is not static. The descriptions of the day could flow from one day, to the next. Themes could even continue throughout the week, especially when there are opposing or reinforcing cards. I’ve done my best to note these.

 

 

We start out the week with the energies of the suit of pentacles, which governs practicality, security and material concerns.

 

Monday March 04.

Nine of Pentacles

We begin the week with a reminder our hard work will pay off soon. This is a “time-out” card. We’ve been working hard lately, tending our garden. As was mentioned a week ago the seeds are sprouting. We may need to stop and assess what we are doing, but we can clearly see the fruits of our labor paying off. This reminder is important to carry with us into Tuesday.

Tuesday March 05.

Five of Pentacles

Tuesday may feel the complete opposite of Monday. We may fall on hard times, or feel lacking in some area today – knowledge, experience, material items, health – anything really. What we felt assured of yesterday, may not be clear at all today. The figures on the card seem to be outside of a church – a gentle reminder that our spiritual work and practice is important to remember and stick with throughout troubled times.

For the end of the week, we are in the energies of the suit of swords – for the most part. Swords govern intellect, thought and reason.

How Reiki Changes my Life

I pulled a card today. (It was the Knight of Cups, in case you're interested, this same card was pulled on 2/2. There is a reading for that day.) I couldn't connect to get anything written for it. I was guided to write this instead. 

This is my "reiki story." It changes my life each and every day, always in an unexpected way.

 

My Reiki journey started while we were searching for honeymoon spots. As soon as we came across the page for Tree Spirit, my (then soon to be) husband and I knew that was the one. Advertised as a “’old island’ style beach cottage”, it boasted no TV, no phone, no clocks. You came there to be there. Perfect! Not to mention it was treated energetically with Reiki, crystals and other ineffable resources. At the time, I had no idea what any of that meant, which is kind of funny to think about now. I did a quick internet search about Reiki, but I only came back with a very, very basic concept of what Reiki is.

What have you been planting in your garden? The Ace of Wands shows us that whatever you have been planting is ready to sprout! It may not be something you recognize, though, so keep your eyes peeled for inspiration, synchronicities, "chance" encounters and opportunities today. You may have to harness your bold, confident energy to take full advantage of your sprout, though. Look at the opportunity, and see how it could work out for you. It might be scary to accept what it may mean, but you are brave, strong and confident and you can handle whatever it brings you.
