More bad news out on GMOs. A highly controversial paper by Professor Gilles-Eric Seralini and his colleagues has been republished after an intense peer-review process. The study has identified serious health impacts on rats that were fed so-called Roundup Ready GMO corn.

The original study that was published in Food and Chemical Toxicology in 2012 found a disturbing degree of liver and kidney damage, as well as major hormonal disruption in rats fed the GM corn, and that the low levels of Roundup are actually below the amount permitted in drinking water in the EU.

The Editor in Chief of FCT retracted the paper in November 2013 after a sustained campaign of criticism and defamation by pro-GMO groups and scientists. But now, the study is out again...

Prior to the arrival of Europeans in America, there were estimated to be 1.2 to 12 million Native Americans living in the Americas. That population was quickly dwindled to 250,000 via disease, suicide, genocide, slavery, and mass murder. This was an incredibly great tragedy and may be one of the most terrible things to ever happen to any group of people in the history of our planet. Meet Kepler 438b. It’s an alien world orbiting a distant star in the constellation of Lyra, and it’s likely the most Earth-like planet that humanity has discovered yet. It’s slightly larger than Earth and circles an orange dwarf star. The planet receives about 40% more heat from its star than we do from our sun.

The smaller size of 438b reveals that it’s likely a rocky world, and its proximity to the star puts it in the “Goldilocks,” or habitable zone. Not too hot, not too cold. Just right for liquid water to flow.

Kepler 438b is 470 light years away from us and completes an orbit around its star every 35 days, making its year about ten times shorter than ours. Small planets like 438b are more likely to be rocky ones than larger planets...

Honey is one of my favorite foods. It’s a superfood full of numerous vitamins and minerals and a safer way to sweeten foods and drinks. But did you know that most of the honey you see in the grocery store is treated with a process called “Ultra-Filtration?”

Food Safety News conducted an investigation into the honey you see on the shelves of your grocery store and found that about 76% of honey there was ultra-filtered. Ultra-filtration is a process that filters out irregularities like wax, but it also filters out pollen. Generic brands were the most likely to be ultra-filtered.

Ultra-filtration is a problem because the ‘impurities’ that it’s filtering are actually some of the most beneficial parts of the honey. This filtration does not provide any benefits to you whatsoever...

Honey is certainly a superfood of sorts. It’s packed with vitamin A, B2, B3, B5, C, biotin and rutine. It also contains minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, copper, iodine, and zinc. Kind of wild to think that one simple food can pack such a healthy punch.

But did you know it can also combat bacterial pathogens? According to Susan M. Meschwitz, Ph.D., honey uses a combination of methods to kill bacteria. One of which is the osmotic effect, which originates in honey’s high sugar concentration. In it, water is drawn from the bacteria cells, leaving the pathogens dehydrated and dead.

Additionally, Biochemist Peter Molan studied natural antibiotics like honey for over 25 years. His findings concluded that manuka honey is the most effective at killing bacteria; even antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
