Possession is a theme of October’s 2015 Taurus Full Moon. The Moon is lighting up what we possess — money, talents resources — here and now in this earthly existence, and especially how we feel about all of it. The theme has another side, though: How and by what are we ourselves possessed?

Indicators of both ends of this spectrum have been flying the past week or two. They have teemed with significant milestones involving matters close to our hearts and bank accounts. Some situations have taken on firmer contours or solidified; others have felt the swift and irreversible whack of a machete. These milestones are key parts of the 2015 Taurus Full Moon, as the landscapes of our lives morph into foundations and structures that replace the chaos of the past three years.

Are There Limited Miracles?

A coaching client reported that years ago when she became pregnant, her doctors told her that the baby would not survive. She and her husband prayed fervently for the child’s well-being, and the baby was born healthy and went on to live a happy life. Since that time she had a few miscarriages, and now the couple very much wants another child. “Do you think we each get a certain allotment of miracles, and when we use it up, we get no more?” she asked.

“That’s not how it works,” I told her firmly. “Miracles and well-being are our natural state, given freely forever. Only the human mind lays limits over the good available to us. It is not God’s grace we need to beg for. It is our own. And we don’t need to beg. We just need to claim it.”

Guilt seems to be an epidemic these days, and it’s plaguing the lives of so many people. I often hear stories of how guilt is controlling someone’s most important life choices. Strangely, guilt isn’t even a natural emotion.

The truth is, guilt is a learned reaction; a negative feeling about ourselves that’s associated with something we’re about to do or that we’ve done.

We might think that that guilt comes from deep inside us, but really, guilt is always about the fear of displeasing or disappointing someone; someone who has an agenda that we feel compelled to fulfill.
