Another big story of the day was the strong thunderstorms that moved through Texas during the overnight hours with some places getting hail. The third story of the day comes from the Northern Plains and the return of Arctic air this late in the season with many places seeing temperatures running about 20 degrees below normal for this time of year.
Big Story Weather Discussion for March 20: Low pressure moving up through the Northeast will again bring more snowfall to the region. A new fast moving low pressure area will push through the Northern Gulf and across parts of Florida bringing with it showers to the area. High pressure over the Northern Plains will bring another round of Arctic air to the region. This cold air is going to start pushing into the Southeastern US and portions of the Gulf Coast. Another frontal boundary over the West Coast will bring showers and higher elevation snows to the region of Washington and Oregon today.
