According to a Environmental Integrity Project (EIP) report issued on July 18th, there were so many so-called “accidents” at refineries, oil and gas facilities and petrochemical plants throughout Texas, that the total pollution emitted across the state amounted to an astonishing 100,000 tons from 2009 through 2011.

Here at Top Secret Writers, we’ve often covered tragic stories of environmental pollution in China, but what the EIP report reveals is that even some states in the U.S. are vulnerable to the sort of corporate short-sighted actions that lead to this level of pollution.

A UFO video posted by a witness in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia over a Sunway Mentari restaurant at first was being treated as a joke and attributed to either a flying toy or a high-flying kite. But scientists at the Malaysian space agency, Angkasa, are saying the sighting is no laughing matter.

The video was posted by videographer John Tan while he was enjoying dinner with friends. The camera used is of extremely high quality and the blinking objects hovering in the sky are clearly visible.

My First Vision?

jofish420's picture

I am not one who readily blogs my every move, feeling, or thought, however, this is an experience I would like to share.  Whether it is true or not, maybe someone could give me some feedback, as I do not want to "fool myself" into a flight of fancy.

I have always "known" things in my life.  Until recently, I didn't know there was a term for this...clairecognizant.  I am also empathic...I feel others feelings, which can be very draining on me at times, if it's a negative feeling.  I pondered this morning whether to share this here or on facebook, I choose here, as I am surrounded by "like-minded" enlightened friends.  =]

Now I digress...many years ago I had the experience of Rolfing.  This is a deep massage technic, which releases tensions and blockages in the body.  It is very painful!   In one of those sessions, he said to me, you choose not to see.  I looked at him perplexed, "what do you mean?"  He said, " You wear glasses because you choose not to see."  I was like, "ok"...but inside I really didn't understand at that time.  He had me practice really "using my eyes" by not wearing my glasses.  Good thing I didn't get into an accident!  I wasn't ready, nor did I "see" the full context of what he was truly saying to me.  Thing were all blurry. Which is how my life was, at that time.  I had a lot to work out within myself.

FOR centuries it has been a place of sanctuary far from the bustle of the world at large, where those in search of peace and tranquillity can seek refuge for years at a time.

But a community of Buddhists who preside over an isolated island retreat off the west coast of Scotland have warned that the future of their refuge is under threat because of plans for an “ugly” and “harmful” biomass plant.

In that a UFO over the Olympics? You bet it is

When Kevin Coakley walked in to his local branch of William Hill in Cardiff on Friday and asked for the odds on a UFO appearing over the Olympic Stadium during the opening ceremony, you’d have to bet a bit of giggling went on behind the counter. Still, he was given odds of 1000-1 so he put on a quid, and sat back and waited.

You probably know what happened next: a flying object was spotted over the Olympic Stadium during the opening ceremony. Whether it’s unidentified is the issue, though, with Goodyear claiming it was probably one of their blimps being used by NBC.

The report looked at the amount of money hidden away.

Gaps in cross-border tax rules have allowed a very small number of the world’s super-rich elite to hide an estimated $21 trillion in offshore bank accounts. That’s according to a new study, “The Price of Offshore Revisited.”

The astounding amount of hidden money cited in the report is more than the gross domestic products of the American and Japanese economies combined. The research was commissioned by the Tax Justice Network -- an independent organization started by the British Parliament to promote reform. The report’s author, James Henry, is the former chief economist for the global management consultant firm McKinsey & Company. RFE/RL's Bruce Jacobs spoke with him by phone from New York.

Like an unwanted houseguest, intense heat and humidity have overstayed their welcome in the South Central states from Kansas southeastward to Mississippi. For many parts of this region, triple-digit heat is likely throughout this weekend and into the first full week of August, with even more records falling by the wayside.

So far during July, hundreds of records have been broken in an eight-state hot zone that encompasses Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas (track records using Climate Central’s Record Temperature Tracker). In addition, those states -- as well as many others across the U.S. -- continue to be hammered by drought as rainfall has been scarce.
