CURIOSITY'S SEVEN MINUTES OF TERROR: In a new must-see video from NASA, Mars Science Lab team members preview the "seven minutes of terror" in store for Curiosity as the rover prepres to land on the Red Planet. Highly recommended.

 

PHOTOGENIC, NOT GEOEFFECTIVE: A long filament of magnetism snaking over the sun's northwestern limb erupted this morning, hurling much of itself into space. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the blast:

 

 

A bright CME billowed away from the blast site. Because of the explosion's location on the NW edge of the solar disk, the cloud will not hit Earth. This event was photogenic but not geoeffective. Solar flare alerts: text, voice.

As the Sun crossed into Cancer this evening, peace set in.

 

Beyond the exuberant eclipses and Venus transit in Gemini over the past few weeks, this Solstice offers a moment to pause, to integrate and set intent before the next round of volatile alignments.

 

Solstice is stillpoint, the apex of the solar year. For three days, the Sun hangs in the same place in the sky before reversing direction and continuing on its journey toward the December Solstice.

Planetary movements signal the slow, steady, deliberate passage of time. Their movement mirrors our own. This moment, now, the next three days, is a turning point.

This time is one of tumult (uproar, confusion, noisy commotion).  In order to perform a change of such magnitude, things have to break off.  This will feel like a jolt in many instances.  This will be necessary because so many here now have to be shown in no uncertain terms that they have a choice.  They cannot ignore it any longer.  You are deep within this time of the Shift.  It is happening whether you see it or not.

 

Choices made now direct your days towards whatever future you are choosing.  What is it that you are hoping to achieve?

 

Are you looking for miraculous?  Miracles are possible now and they will take place not within ancient texts but before your eyes.

 

You came to participate.  Know that what you are doing is just precisely what you’ve planned all along.  Trust.

 

Our families, our bodies, our jobs, our locations, our friends and our lovers – were all chosen for this moment now.  In order to get the most from each challenge and situation, all players are in place with their parts memorized.
