The Science of Living

Chemistry was the only subject I was teaching for several years prior to 2005. However, along with chemistry, I have since had the opportunity to also teach at the University of California at Davis a freshman seminar titled, “From Self-Awareness to Personal Growth for True Success in and after College.” Teaching not only chemistry but also the seminar brought me awareness of several very important issues related to student life.

Franklin Merrell-Wolff, who we’ll hear from here, frequently referred to enlightenment as a “treasure”.

Like a lot of spiritual teachers have told us, enlightenment is as much of a destructive process as it is constructive, but at the “end” of it all, we’ll come out shining, divine beings who are fully aware of our divinity and are able to use our newfound, elevated awareness to address society’s biggest problems.

We’re becoming aware of our Godliness and the things we can achieve once we tap into it, but for the most part, none of us have really found enlightenment.

We still have quite a path ahead of us before we get there, but our spiritual evolution isn’t about reaching the destination – it’s about enjoying ourselves along the way.

They’re fast, convenient, and easy to use. Manufacturers even produce packaged foods specifically for their use. What I’m referring to are of course, microwave ovens, the household appliance that is still regularly used as a part of meal preparation and re-heating in approximately 90% of American homes.

I say “still” in the previous statement because the dangers associated with microwave use have been documented for quite some time, dangers that I will once again outline in this article. Ultimately, arguments can always be made for the use of anything harmful if done in moderation, but given the hectic nature of most of our lives, the convenience the device offers makes little to moderate use seem very unlikely to be practiced.

We cannot stress the importance of creating a safe and nurturing environment for yourself that supports your alignment, growth, self expression, and purpose. You are on the planet to be uniquely you and to make the contributions only you can make. Surround yourself with people who remind you of your truth, who encourage you in your beauty and beingness, who celebrate you in all your you-ness!

The days are gone that require you to fight to prove yourself, as that is based on the old model of conditional love. Simply allow yourself to shine in all your delightfulness and allow those who see and love you for who you truly are access to your inner circle, for those are the ones who are qualified to support you in your highest expression of self. From that solid footing you will best be able to support others, as well. Doesn’t a continuous dance of mutual upliftment sound wonderful? ~Archangel Gabriel

Burnt-out husk or balanced-out biome? Progressive technologies or outdated technologies? Unsustainable comfort or sustainable discomfort? Spiritual ecocentrism or dogmatic egocentrism? Slapped with the truth or kissed with a lie?

Tough questions all, but excruciatingly important questions to ask. Unfortunately most people want to be kissed with a lie. They eat it up. They eagerly accept their spoon-feeding like a too-trusting baby in a too-high chair. They question too little and rely too much on so-called answers. They put the cart before the horse, and then wonder why the horse isn’t moving. Gee, I wonder?

HJ: Everything should be as simple as possible and no simpler, according to Einstein.  Wise words from a brilliant and wise man.  If you’re in overwhelm or even just feeling stretched a bit thin, it’s time to reconsider and slow down, which ironically will lead to more success and perhaps most importantly, more enjoyment out of life.
